From Dennis Prysner
Near sunset last night, while trying to get a few more shots of the Great Horned Owlets I saw on the weekend, I walked around a bit to stretch my legs and came across this beautiful Barred Owl. He/she was snoozing for a while and then flew off and returned to the area a few minutes later with a small snake and after swallowing it, came to rest on this mossy branch, I was very lucky!

Time to plug [email protected] (I do not mod it) for those of us who feel bad for that snake :(
I also enjoy snakes. I will share one of my favorites over there as compensation.
For an animal like an owl that can’t chew, sadly a snake seems an ideal food once the danger is removed from the danger noodle.
and meanwhile, bunnies seem to be food for snakes and falcons sometimes… liking both animals in a predator-prey relationship is an experience
Yeah, I was upset when my hawk got ahold of one of my treasured blue jays, but that is how we get to enjoy hawks.
Someday the predators will become nutrients for plants though, and that will give life to new bunnies and seeds and healthy insects for new jays.
Everyone has an important role to play!
That’s how it be!
