Yo Germany, what the actual fuck?
Merz, Our chancellor to be is a man who voted against punishing raping a spouse the same as raping a stranger (he didn’t want a taking spouse to be punished). He is sexist, hates poor people and badmouthed the millions of people who went on the streets to demonstrate against an unlawful (!) change of immigration law he tried to enforce with far right AfD.
There’s also a lovely story about him losing his notebook (analog, no laptop).
Story
A homeless person found it, saw how important that thing was with all that secret papers and politician names, adresses, … And brought it to the police where he also left the address of a shelter where he could be reached in case Merz wanted to reach out. He kind of did by sending a signed copy of his new released book about how to improve oneself to finally stand on one’s own feet.
People from his party (CDU and their Bavarian sister CSU) were trying to bring the same culture war to Germany that’s currently going on in the US. They are dividing us, trying to copy MAGA. And it’s so obvious but people fall for them.
So now they are working on setting up our next government with CDU and Merz as chancellor and SPD as their spineless sidekick. But at least the German version of crazy is still waaaay less bad than US government crazy. So we will survive but a lot of my friends with immigration background will suffer and need all the support we can provide…
