Hello, people. Prepare yourselves here!
5'6/145 pounds in my 30s.
I've been doing 1500/1600 for quite some time - I've been a member here a good couple years.
Over a decade ago, I was diagnosed with a chronic health issue. Recently, it just kicked up a notch. It's pretty debilitating.
Treatment indefinitely includes no caffeine, a minimum of three liters of water per day, and salt salt salt.
Unfortunately, salt tablets alone are not enough.
SALTY FOODS ARE NOT MY THING - AT ALL. YET, SALT IS NOW THE CENTER OF MY FOOD CHOICES. 🤦♀️
Neurologist, wants me to include the following into my daily diet:
12 oz Gatorade and not sugar free: 80 calories
Serving of salted chips: 210 calories
Instant Ramen or Pho: 210 + (depending on what is added) calories. Only part of this new phase, I think I can easily adjust too.
Minimum 1/2 serving of salted macadamin nuts or salted pistachios - which we all know is well over a few calories. They've been purchased... I haven't looked at the nutritional info yet.
I'm hitting 3,000 - 4,000 steps per day. Goal is three months from now to be hitting 7,000 where I'll stay for who knows how long. Two months ago I was averaging 10,000
HTF do I pull this off? I flat out said this to him and he said nothing.
This post is a vent, but also a request for salty food suggestions that he might possibly approve as an alternative.
Please, as many as you can think of no matter how weird!

I think that is probably why the brothy foods were recommended? To help add more water to the diet?
What is your doctor's opinion on your calorie intake as a whole right now? Is it advised for you to do 1500 at the moment? There are times when it might be necessary to do a bit more to stay healthy in other ways. All in all, I wish you all the best and I hope you figure this out!
