Time to upgrade to a 5th gen?

Hi all, my best up old 2004 4Runner recently hit 200k miles and I am tempted to upgrade to a newer model (2014-2017 seems to be in my budget). I am wondering if anyone has words of wisdom upgrading from a 4th gen. I love the v8 and don’t want to feel a lack of power. It also seems like safety and tech aren’t really any better in the newer ones. Any advice from this community?

I have heard 2014-16 are the worst years among all the years. They are still reliable nonetheless. I’d recommend to go 2017+ or 2010-13 are also very reliable ones (as far as I have read on forums).
