can i still go to high school?

hi, i’m in 8th grade. i’ve been having a very hard time with school and my mental health. please don’t judge me too hard :). i currently am failing most classes with my highest grade being a c. it’s embarrassing enough on its own. now i only have about 3 weeks left of school to get them fixed. can i still go to high school if i fail a core class? i don’t know what to do. being held back would be super awful. (i’m in california btw so laws may be different everywhere)
