If we could set up a Truman Show scenario where Trump thinks he’s President again and the public send in scenarios for him to deal with, what would you suggest?

This is the best idea I've seen in a long long while. I would even start watching TV again just for this show.

3k

u/Never-On-Reddit 28d ago

I could see an expensive dementia facility setting up something where they tell him every day that yes, he's still the President. They give him fake papers and a sharpie to sign them each day, to keep him entertained, and play recorded videos of his supporters from 2020. They serve him cheeseburgers on gold platters every night.

1k

u/yeinenefa 28d ago

That is actually what happened with Trump's father: he refused to stop going to work, so his assistant would give him blank papers to sign.

When the president’s father, Fred, developed Alzheimer’s, the family reportedly conspired to help him believe that he still ran the Trump organization. According to Vanity Fair, the elder Mr. Trump would show up for work every day, signing blank papers and using an office phone connected only to his secretary’s line. “Fred pretended to work,” a family friend told the magazine.

“Fred pretended to work,”

Like father, like son.

Also didn't Trump sign blank papers when he was in the hospital with COVID last year?

u/PointlessParable 28d ago

How could someone trying to provide good PR for the president by staging photos of him "working" in different locations within minutes of each other not know to strip the Exif data from pictures? That's amateur stuff.

163

u/riskywhiskey077 28d ago

I know this one! It’s because they prioritize hiring candidates based on how closely related they are to trumps family, and not how qualified a candidate is

31

u/daddeon 28d ago

Or the person was perfectly intelligent and qualified and knew exactly what would happen.

15

u/brcguy 28d ago

Turns out it’s harder to find competent people when you prioritize people without morals.

2

u/PrestigiousAd3900 28d ago

Probably didn't care.

65

u/mdaws7 28d ago edited 28d ago

i’ll never forget when him and a bunch of other world leaders were signing documents, and everyone knew that trump signed the wrong thing, and didn’t tell him. instead they just stood there and cackled. justin trudeau was like “get a load of this idiot” greatest fucking thing ever.

3

u/Davistele 28d ago

Thanks for reminding me of this. Forgotten in the tidal wave of crazy that was Trump’s term.

Here's the gold

178

u/apolloxer 28d ago

I'm conflicted between pity and schadenfreude.

55

u/StinkyMcBalls 28d ago

Idk much about his dad, so it's just pity from me at this point

30

u/PointlessParable 28d ago

He was not well regarded by progressives of the time.

22

u/scroll_of_truth 28d ago

I know a little about his dad, so no pity from me at this point

80

u/DeuceSevin 28d ago

By all accounts, he was a horrible bigoted man, so save your pity for someone like Mother Ter... oh wait...

12

u/Real_Smile_6704 28d ago

he was by a all accounts a truly horrible person. His only redeeming quality was that publicly wished that his son would die in a plane crash

22

u/PrestigiousAd3900 28d ago

His awful treatment of Donald is a large part of why he turned out the way he did though, so that's not really in the "pro" column.

31

u/Crowbarmagic 28d ago

Alzheimer is just sad all around. Perhaps the man was also a total douche but still, I could never be like 'haha you have Alzheimer's now!'.

8

u/vampyrekat 28d ago

Yeah, I’m sure he was a horrible man but Alzheimer’s often includes sundowning, which involves the person being … worse. So placating him with things to sign and a secretary who I hope to god was well compensated for the verbal abuse she no doubt endured is mostly sad, to me. I can’t consider it karma because the man didn’t remember it or learn, it just negatively impacts the people around him.

Source: occasionally had to play the equivalent of that secretary for my grandma, saying nice empty statements to keep her busy. She would get incandescently angry anyway.

6

u/apolloxer 28d ago

Hence my conflict.

4

u/nein01besondere 28d ago

Ehh, he wouldn't remember it... no worries.

20

u/Moltac 28d ago

That’s actually really sad though. I know nothing about Donald’s father, but regardless of the quality of his character, I think that’s a sad way to live out the remainder of one’s days.

40

u/yeinenefa 28d ago

He was in fact a terrible person, Donald definitely got it from somewhere. But yes, it's a pretty hollow existence to end your days on.

4

u/TheBrontosaurus 28d ago

Ignoring that fact that he was as much a piece of shit as his son this is actually exemplary Dementia care. Allowing the patient to have a sense of normality and independence is important. My great aunt, who had six kids, recently died of Alzheimer’s. Her delusions usually were that she needed to take care of her babies. When her kids learned her nurses were giving her bundles of blankets they actually bought her a doll and bottles so she could take care of a baby. It made her a lot less distressed because in her mind things were correct.

3

u/Individual-Text-1805 28d ago

In a way it's nice they conspired to make him think he's still in charge. Still a total piece of shit.

2

u/Fishtacoburrito 28d ago

Something similar happens in Westworld and as detestable as the character was, I did find myself feeling sorry for them.

3

u/golgol12 28d ago

I believe he knew down deep somewhere, and he went in because he didn't want to be alone and wanted to be somewhere familiar.

3

u/Zealousideal-Feed156 28d ago

Assistants do way too much emotional labor for their bosses my god

3

u/mgcarley 28d ago

This actually also happened with a former dictator of Portugal (Salazar).

2

u/palland0 28d ago

Anosognosia?

1

u/fyrecrotch 28d ago

Are you sure they did that to keep him occupied? Or that maybe he always pretended to work it's been such a normal everyday thing for him and he kept it up

1

u/IveBeenCanceledAgain 28d ago

Isn’t Alzheimer’s generic?

1

u/Redditthedog 28d ago

I mean its kinda wholesome they made sure he was happy

u/oraclestats 28d ago

My wife had a resident who believed he was still running his company so they gave him a desk, a stack of blank papers to sign, and listened to him complain that no one else was working.

658

u/lillithfair4 28d ago

I work in a nursing home as well and sometimes this is the best medicine lol. Once worked somewhere that had a retired postman who thought he was still working. We let him deliver the resident mail every day and it made him pretty damn happy (with staff following and helping of course)

143

u/catthrowaway626 28d ago

Lol the way this is worded saying that he thought he was a postman so they got him to work as a postman reminded me of this

14

u/LouSputhole94 28d ago

Poor Frankie…

29

u/-Nathan02- 28d ago

That's actually so nice.

21

u/lblack_dogl 28d ago

This one is awesome because he's actually doing something. The fake business desk above made me sad cause the guy is confused about other people not working.

8

u/Crickaboo 28d ago

Co-worker had a patient that loved to tip staff. He had dementia and a relative brought in some coins he had collected over the years that were not too valuable. He started tipping housekeeping, the dietary aides and even some of the doctors. Everyone at first gave the nursing staff back all the coins. They took them away from him at first but then they just let him have the coins back so he could tip people every day and the coins would be counted every night then put back on his dresser so the process could go on. The guy loved it.

5

u/BeckyDaTechie 28d ago

The memory care wing I helped with had retired nuns, mostly teachers and nurses.

We graded a lot of spelling and multiplication tests.

176

u/SunNStarz 28d ago

Sounds like the equivalent of handing a toddler an unplugged controller to let them think they are playing the game.

14

u/jennifererrors 28d ago

Sadly, sometimes that is pretty much the case. All you can do

50

u/rainator 28d ago

Pretty sure this is what they did with Fred Trump too.

68

u/redheadartgirl 28d ago

I love stories like this. There's no sense fighting with someone who has entered their own reality, just let them spend their final days happy and doing what they love.

8

u/Famous-Chemistry-530 28d ago

God yes. I am a nurse. I hate when they tell us to tell Alzheimer's/dementia pt's about "reality". Like what fucking good does that do??

I had one old lady who would get soooo mad when we served her dinner, yelling that we were whores and she heard us fucking her husband. Then she would throw the tray. No one else wanted to feed her and wanted her on a liquid diet.

I thought she was the highlight of my boring- ass clinicals, so i volunteered to feed her every meal. When she would start her spiel about me fucking her husband, id just say like "Milly, now u know i wouldnt do that. You are thinking of that skank Amelia down the street, remember? Im your friend. But if you sit down and eat a bite with me, ill tell you some gossip about that slut Amelia."

So she would sit quietly and we would talk about how Amelia was fucking half the town. It kept her quiet and interested, and her mind off her own husband (who must have been a philandering asshole). Some of the older nurses tried to say i was confusing her, but the head nurse was like "She doesnt know what year it is, if some made-up gossip keeps her happy then shut up."

I loved that old lady.

0

u/orangeoliviero 25d ago

You're not a nurse. You're a certified nursing assistant.

Stop calling yourself a nurse. If you want to claim that title, pursue the education required for it.

1

u/Famous-Chemistry-530 25d ago

What do u think you know about my education? Is this bc i posted on the CNA sub? You do realize healthcare workers very often have many certs, and often nurses start as CNAs?

So yes, i have a CNA. As well as an MA,phleb, med tech, and psych tech certs (most of them earned thru work programs- i.e. your facility conducts training programs so you can sit for the cert exams). I ALSO am enrolled in a "dual path" sort of accelerated nursing program, wherein the first 18ms-2yrs are for your ADN which I HAVE COMPLETED, which then segues into a further 2-3 yrs for your BSN. You CAN sit the NCLEX with an ADN, as far as i know, but i dont plan to till post BSN. But an Assoc of Nursing is a nursing degree, thanks. Post BSN,i intend to go on to go on to become a PA or NP,not sure.

In addition, i completed 3 years of premed courses- psych and BCMB (BioChem and Cellular Molecular Biology degree abbreviation) double major- from 2007-2010 before withdrawing with only 1 yr to go due to financial constraints.

You can read about any of this shit thru various posts in my profile, but if you have any more "concerns" about my "education", please lmk and ill try to clear it up for u.

12

u/thedavecan 28d ago

Back when I worked ICU, we had a lady with pleasant dementia. She kept trying to get out of bed and wander off so we gave her a stack of linen to "help" fold. Worked wonders.

9

u/HowardMoo 28d ago

Short of a cure, I wish this for everyone.

8

u/MakkaCha 28d ago edited 28d ago

They did that with Reagan when he had dimentia, except Reagan was still president. He thought he was acting as a president and they presented the briefings as a script.

Edit: could not find the source for that claim. Could have been possibly from a tabloid thing that has since been redacted.

4

u/usclone 28d ago

Whoa. Source? That’s… an unpleasant thought on so many levels.

4

u/MakkaCha 28d ago

Apparently unproven but Snopes put some pieces together: https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/ronald-reagan-alzheimers-disease/

4

u/Max_Vision 28d ago

I used to work for a company that build wander-monitoring systems to keep residents from leaving the facility without an escort. A salesperson told me that one facility declined our product. They solved their issue by just putting a fake bus stop right outside the door. Everyone that walked out the door would sit down and wait for the bus. Every now and then the staff would check the "bus stop" and tell everyone that "the bus was delayed, come inside for tea" and the problem was solved.

4

u/ZipCity262 28d ago

I volunteered in a nursing home and one of the patients had dementia, but she was convinced that we both worked at the nursing home together. She was always offering to cover my shifts and trash talking the other employees.

3

u/rvrdrppr 28d ago

We had a former jeweler. She had tons of toy necklaces and a loupe for inspecting them. Worked like a charm.

3

u/TherapistOfPentacles 28d ago

My mothers close friend worked as a nurse in a nursing home decades ago where one of the residents who come out of her room every day in a tizzy telling the staff she “needed help getting ready for her audition for x director in an hour!”

The staff would help her put on her makeup and pick out some “audition clothes” then walk her to her “audition” in the dining hall. Rinse and repeat every day. It was like she was reliving with joy her younger years as a actress.

What has he become?

13

u/Jazeraine-S 28d ago

Or have a literal fake news channel report on the amazing things he did every day so he can watch it and eat hamberders.

"Oh boy, I'm on TV, and I did such a good job today, I built a wall and shot the China virus and solved all the math, so much math, smarter than other numbers."

"This just in: Supreme President Trump fired a gold-plated Nerf rifle at a box of Kleenex, effectively ending the Coronavirus. In other news, Supreme President Trump worked tirelessly over the past hour and a half, White House sources suggest, to construct a six inch tall barrier out of Lincoln Logs to repel the Saudis from the north side of the Oval Office desk. Since that historical moment, no Saudis have sat on that side of the desk, meaning that yet again, our wise and benevolent leader was correct. And in lighter news, today our beloved President was able to figure out how much to pay for three cheeseburgers, dealing with the complicated arithmetic like a good boy. Who's a good boy? You are!"

11

u/eggplantkaritkake 28d ago

He can appear to himself every day, on closed circuit TV, to make sure he's still real

It's a lyric from a Pink Floyd Song: The Fletcher Memorial Home.

5

u/Jazeraine-S 28d ago

Apologies! I did not know that, that's awesome! That's just exactly the sort of thing I would expect, he derives his self-image based on how TV portrays him.

6

u/vishnoo 28d ago
Take all your overgrown infants away somewhere

And build them a home, a little place of their own. The Fletcher Memorial Home for Incurable Tyrants and Kings.

And they can appear to themselves every day On closed circuit T.V. To make sure they're still real. It's the only connection they feel.

"Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome, Reagan and Haig, Mr. Begin and friend, Mrs. Thatcher, and Paisly, "Hello Maggie!" Mr. Brezhnev and party. "Scusi dov'è il bar?" The ghost of McCarthy, The memories of Nixon. "Who's the bald chap?" "Good-bye!" And now, adding colour, a group of anonymous latin- American meat packing glitterati.

Did they expect us to treat them with any respect? They can polish their medals and sharpen their Smiles, and amuse themselves playing games for awhile. Boom boom, bang bang, lie down you're dead.

Safe in the permanent gaze of a cold glass eye With their favorite toys They'll be good girls and boys In the Fletcher Memorial Home for colonial Wasters of life and limb.

Is everyone in? Are you having a nice time? Now the final solution can be applied.

2

u/eggplantkaritkake 28d ago

None needed, but if you're into that type of music at all you should definitely give the song a listen. It's not a popular song or album, but still I consider them both among my favorites.

That's sad. Poor guy. Good on you guys for trying to make him feel at ease and comfortable while it lasted.

After my grandmother died my grandfather condition, who's mind was already deteriorating, rapidly got worse. At one point we couldn't communicate with him anymore. He would just stare and cry a lot. It was really unbearable to see.

He was an artist for most of his career, making paintings in his own time, and making a regular income by designing patterns and other decoration for cigar bands. When he was really far gone the only thing that made him seem at ease was when he had a pencil in his hand and a piece of paper in front of him. What he drew was basically random crap, but at least he wasn't crying or looking lost when he was drawing.

A majority of politicians probably have dementia, even more presidents so I wouldn’t be surprised

55

u/jimicus 28d ago

Well, considering the majority of Alzheimer's patients start to show symptoms in their mid-late 60s - and given average ages in US politics..... yeah, that may not be far from the truth.

19

u/darkgiIls 28d ago

And that’s quite concerning one might say

5

u/femaleviper 28d ago

Diane Feinstein is definitely in mid to late stage

8

u/jimicus 28d ago edited 28d ago

Late stage alzheimers has you basically barely able to move or talk. Mid-stage isn't much better - by then you're likely having difficulty controlling your bowels.

But it's worth noting that Alzheimers' is a slow-progressing, terrible disease. You can spend many years broadly able to look after yourself but sufficiently confused that you probably shouldn't be trusted with any decision more complicated than what you're going to have for lunch.

Technically, you're still in relatively early stages then. But you should probably have someone keeping an eye on you because you're only a step away from completely forgetting that you need to leave the grill door open and setting fire to the kitchen.

He can't string a single sentence together. The disorganised thoughts and inability to maintain topics reminds me of the older people I work with in the hospital where I work who are showing early signs of dementia with CT brain scans showing "involutional changes in keeping with a dementia picture" as the CT technicians put it in their reports.

I'm not a conservative neither a Trump fan. He also said a lot of shit, it's just that at least he could speak fluently.

I love it when you donkey-brained cowards can't even admit your political leanings while regurgitating your right supremacist talking points. You know that Biden has had a stutter since childhood right? It's not dementia, and even if it's stuttered, at least what he says makes sense, unlike literally 90% of the bullshit Trump spouts.

Keep being controlled by the media bro.

What a totally normal thing for someone who definitely isn't a conservative, or a Trump fan, to say!

2

u/[deleted] 28d ago

But but my racist corporatist warhawk is better than yours!

0

u/steveryans2 28d ago

Oh man, this one quote again. Seems to be the go-to people use for "dementia" even though they really have no other source. If THIS is your bar, Biden clears it non-stop.

He can't string a single sentence together.

You sure? I saw him speak for an hour in person, he seemed to do pretty fine

So your whole of the evidence is one sentence (seems to be the only sentence anyone ever uses to make this argument) and then a wildly different set of circumstances where you have casually observed older people you work with in the hospital? Boy is that poor diagnostic criteria

5

u/pinkocatgirl 28d ago

He acts like my grandmother did at the end of her life and she had dementia. She was constantly fabricating conspiracies where the people around her are out to get her. My grandmother would rant to anyone who would listen about how her children stole her money and sold her “3 floor country mansion” without her permission. It’s not a mansion, it’s a 2 floor 3 bedroom country house with an exposed basement on one side, and we still own it even though she’s been dead for 3 years. She was put in the memory care facility because she would forget to take her medications and was eating spoiled food because she forgot how old it was.

0

u/steveryans2 28d ago

Yeah so she had dementia. None of that is what's been observed in Trump short of you claiming he's "fabricating conspiracies". It's fine to think he's an asshole, but don't play doctor, particularly when you're talking to someone who does it for a living.

1

u/pinkocatgirl 28d ago

Lol whatever

I still think he has dementia.

0

u/steveryans2 28d ago

That's fine, you can think what you want. You'll just be wrong. I do neuropsychological testing for a living, so I'm pretty confident I have significantly more expertise

0

u/pinkocatgirl 28d ago

And you’ve never actually examined the man and you have a political bias toward him so I don’t take a lot of stock in your opinion.

1

u/steveryans2 27d ago

The difference being, I'm not making a claim. No other "expert" has examined him either though they sure have no problem making unethical claims

6

u/Jungleman6 28d ago

I’m pretty sure there was an expert who said that the way he leans forward and kinda just dangles when he stands is a classic sign of either Alzheimer’s or dementia, I don’t remember which.

There’s also the fact that it’s nearly impossible for him to make a speech without suddenly changing the subject to how amazing some random person is at something and then suddenly going on a disjointed and incoherent ramble about how amazing he is at something.

1

u/steveryans2 28d ago

That's not dementia. Whatsoever. And body posturing has nothing to do with Alzheimer's, short of the hands engaging in what's called "pill-rolling" type movement and behavior. Further, an expert utilizing purely audiovisual footage not in the context of a neuropsychological exam is 1) worth zilch and 2) highly unethical. So that person should not only have their license suspended, they're not even making a diagnoses based on anything worth a fuck.

Source: me. I do neuropsychological testing aka alzheimers and dementia for a living

From there, we could've fed him with a bullshit story line that his plan worked, Pence & the Dem leadership were strung up, his coup was successful, & he was now the King of the USA.

Meanwhile, we keep him down there for a few days w/ stories of civil unrest while Biden gets inaugurated & moves into the White House.

From there, we tell Trump that full on Civil War breaks out & we move him to fuckin Cheyenne Mountain or some shit to "oversee the war effort", & just let the simulation play its way out from there, all while the cameras are rolling!

Best part is if he ended up eventually figuring it out, we could just show him his incredible ratings & he'd be so fucking happy about them, he'd probably just keep playing the part as the fake president just be the most watched tv show every day & in every time slot, haha.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they already do this at shitalago. I’d bet on it, actually

5

u/Rdan5112 28d ago

I’m pretty sure that you could just tell his supporters that he was president too.

“They REINSTATED him. I saw it on the telabish-on!”

u/PrisonerV 28d ago

You know this is exactly what his family did to his dad. They set up the office with a phone that only reached his secretary and had him sign blank pages.

Shutter Island (2010)

1

u/Hopland 28d ago

Maybe I missed the /s, but y'all talking like he wasn't actually caught with blank papers to shuffle around on the Resolute Desk, leaks from the White House confirmed he watches his own rallies and shit, and the cheeseburger thing is probably actually true during the 45th administration. I don't remember what color utensils and plates the fast food buffet was served on, but it wouldn't surprise me...

You should watch any trump speech ever then. The demented narcissist can’t string a full sentence together unless it’s a three word chant, which is coincidentally the most his brain dead cultists have the mental capacity to repeat back

4

u/OnyxMelon 28d ago

If that's what you believe it sounds like they might be doing it with you.

1

u/technicallynotguilty 28d ago

Don’t forget the Diet Coke!

1

u/whogivesashirtdotca 28d ago

They give him fake papers and a sharpie to sign them each day, to keep him entertained

The Gilderoy Lockhart method.

1

u/ThrowawayBlast 28d ago

Pretty much the same subplot in the Discworld book 'Eric'.

1

u/d_Composer 28d ago

I could see the expense of this facility being offset by the 24/7 live feed we could all subscribe to. He’d finally get his news network!! It all worked out in the end!

1

u/f7f7z 28d ago

50 first dates scenario?

1

u/IamNotIntelligent69 28d ago

Sounds like another SCP to contain.

1

u/ThanksImjustlurking 28d ago

Shutter island?

1

u/BillMahersPorkCigar 28d ago

This is what I think happens at Mar a Lago now

1

u/capnvontrappswhistle 28d ago

Kinda same concept as the fake babies and pets they give dementia patients now

1

u/music-and-lyrics 28d ago

That’s some Gilderoy Lockhart shit

1

u/Icy-Vegetable-Pitchy 28d ago

Sounds like Gilderoy Lockhart

1

u/bentdaisy 28d ago

This explains some of Trump’s paranoia. Having helped deceive his father, he must be living life making sure he really is the most amazing person ever to live and not just being fooled by people telling him so.

1

u/Michaelconeass2019 26d ago

They did this to Getulio Vargas after he had a stroke

-21

u/DutchessActual 28d ago edited 28d ago

Well Biden already has dementia so this wouldn’t be too hard. Watching the news may be more efficient

5

u/RCRedmon 28d ago

This is a pretty dumb take, but I still had to respond simply to ask if you meant sufficient instead of efficient.

-12

u/DutchessActual 28d ago

Nope you were wrong too. “More” efficient. Edited.

Oh no! All the teenage Biden bois giving me blue arrows 😭 what will I ever do?? I only have 19k more!

1

u/RCRedmon 28d ago

I don't think sufficient would be wrong in your previous comment. In the context it would have been completely adequate. Unless you're implying that I was wrong in predicting what you meant to say, in which case that may be true. My clairvoyancy has been lacking as of late.

u/Oldchap226 28d ago

The down votes are hilarious. Does reality have a right wing bias now?

0

u/DutchessActual 28d ago

Downvotes? Never heard of her.

-10

u/FoghornLegporn 28d ago

You mean like Biden right now? Minus the supporters.

-2

u/nocapitalletter 28d ago

seems that is what they do in the whitehouse currently.

Someone can send him daily updates on the progress of his wall.

u/sir-came-alot 28d ago

Somehow I pictured drew Carey calling out for audience suggestions for funny scenarios in my head

5

u/noobprodigy 28d ago

How can you tell when someone doesn't watch TV? Don't worry, they'll tell you.

4

u/NonchalantSavant 28d ago

As much as I couldn't stand the guy, I would watch this show. Until I couldn't stand him even more.

4

u/banality_of_ervil 28d ago

Honestly, it's just the past 4 years without the terror or surrealism.

17

u/SenorWoodsman 28d ago

Best part is he's probably not smart enough to figure out it's all fake.

7

u/NonchalantSavant 28d ago

While spewing about the preponderance of fake news media.

3

u/ImaginaryCourtship 28d ago

Even better: also put his loyal followers in there.

3

u/Mr-and-Mrs 28d ago

“This week On Trump’s America, the president hilariously thinks that Americans want his signature on the moon. Watch as Trump advises his “moon scientists” on how to best get this accomplished. And don’t miss the hilarious results of last week’s episode, where we’ll take you live to visit the Trump presidential unicorn farm.”

3

u/crestonfunk 28d ago

SNL did a skit where Reagan thought the presidency was a TV show and he was still an actor. They would give him scripts and he would go out and perform.

It was in the late eighties I think.

3

u/SetYourGoals 28d ago

Armando Ianucci, who made Veep, In the Loop, The Thick of It, and Death of Stalin, actually pitched this exact idea years ago. And he got legitimate offers from studios for him to make it, but decided not to. He said this about it in an interview:

[The Trump administration] has become its own entertainment, and a commentary on itself, so I don’t know where you go if you want to do a comedic take on it other than just pointing this out or countering it by expressing facts, which is what John Oliver does with his team of researchers, I suppose. He’s sort of doing journalism. Trump is the clown, and comedians have become investigative reporters. How can you exaggerate someone who is an exaggeration?

2

u/asanano 28d ago

When he was running in 2016, Seth meyers suggested it basically. He said something along the lines of he only wants to be a TV president anyway, and the rest of us would kinda like to see what it would be like, without actually dealing with the consequences.

2

u/gurg2k1 28d ago

This was actually a conspiracy theory pushed by QAnon supporters only they claimed Joe Biden was the one living in a fake White House set all orchestrated by Trump:

https://observers.france24.com/en/americas/20210319-joe-biden-conspiracy-theory-white-house-set-trump-qanon

2

u/Weird_Fiches 28d ago

But I'd ask that they blur out trump like they do copyrighted stuff or brand names that didn't pay for product placement in shows. Maybe electronically alter his voice too, no point in making me suffer.

1

u/divorceisgreat 28d ago

Would actually unify the country? Would his supporters see the alternative ending?

1

u/Frankfusion 28d ago

This was actually the plot to an episode of our cartoon president on Comedy Central. It was hilarious.

1

u/-Nathan02- 28d ago

Wait you don't watch TV?

1

u/-doodle-bug- 28d ago

The Trumpman Show

1

u/AndySipherBull 28d ago

If they made a bizzaro west wing type show, starring Trump with all the writing and creative decisions subject to Trump's approval, I'd fight thru the nausea and watch the shit out of it.

1

u/vrohub 28d ago

Agree! I imagined it more like a comic book.

1

u/Gottogetaglory 28d ago

Orange is the New Black Mirror

On Netflix obviously

-8

u/gothicmaster 28d ago

Well you can just watch current news because that's what's literally happening with Biden. I think it's really cute that he thinks he is the president

-2

u/ManuGinosebleed 28d ago

why do you think CNN, MSNBC, etc ratings tanked disastrously after the Don left office?
