Was waiting for this one. As a resident I can confirm there's very little besides wheat and meth.

Johnson County is often rated one of the best places to live in the country. I do agree tho that western Kansas is awful.

As a JoCo resident I can confirm that as wholly mind-numbingly boring this state is, with its breathtaking lack of diverse landscapes and elevations and gigantic lifeless swathes of windmill and wheat farms, JoCo is a pretty safe and cheap place to live

Hey I found the OP super deep in 20,000 comments! It's like finding Waldo.

Anyway, the one surprising thing I found about Kansas when I drove through it across country once was that it had surprisingly beautiful state parks! With streams and reservoirs. Was totally not expecting it.

Pittsburg State University.... GO-RILLAS!

Went to college in Kansas. But, I can confirm that meth and wheat are abundant. Also sunflowers, one will hate sunflowers by the time they leave. I mean it... Sunflowers are E-V-E-R-Y-W-H-E-R-E.

Fellow Gorilla here too! Go Pitt!!

But seriously, Kansas is mostly boring but I have come to appreciate it's beauty. My grandparents live in the Flint Hills and they're gorgeous in the summer.

And those freaking controlled burns every year that kill the air quality three states over. Asthma attacks for days.

Ahh, I remember the days when the Kansas smoke would roll through KC. Made the air kind of yellow and smelled awful.

Yes. In high school it always fell on days that PE was held outside. Nothing like running the track with seven kids sounding like they had covid ahead of time!

The good wheat tho?

Good wheat, yes. Good weed, no. That's the next state over.

It would suck to be gluten free, unless you really like meth...
