What is a super popular TV show or movie that you can’t stand?

American idol. It used to be like raw talent, now everyone's been training since they were 3 for the audition and fake as fuck. No real personality, it's all just a character they put together for the show. And the producers love it.

I think they stopped doing that when it went to ABC. It was what brought the viewers in, but it was also really mean-spirited.

The thing that bothered me, was that the celebrity auditions you see on TV, is like the 3rd or 4th round of auditioning. So, these people have been told they sound great, just so they'll fly to the celebrity auditions to be made fun of. It was super mean.

Once I learned just how manipulative and fake everything is when it comes to those shows it made me really dislike em. I loved the idea of being able to give your talent a shot but a lot of the times it’s so fake and they do shit just for ratings. Like come on… isn’t every winner (finalist) a singer also? Like what about the super huge talents that are actually unique?!

I watched it all through the early 2000s and loved it. It was when the original judges started leaving was when I stopped enjoying it

The lead singer for Hollywood Undead did an audition as a joke before he was in the band. He denied it for the longest time but a picture of him on it came out and he had to admit to it

Hey, just a heads up, it was never about raw talent. Everyone was in there for specific reasons. It was never a meritocracy.

People were preselected in the beginning. They just got bad at hiding it later on.

Personally, I think this is the weakest lineup of judges (barring the Nicki/Mariah combo) they’ve ever had.
