Meal specific foods is a social construct and I won't stand for it.

That's a nostalgic mood to when my dad would make pancakes for dinner because that was my dinner request for the week

First time I met my Italian American later-to-become mother-in-law, she tried to cook me chicken and spaghetti at 10am.

Yes to pasta at any time! When I was in grad school there was an all you can eat brunch buffet at an Italian restaurant near campus. It was glorious to have frittatas, various pastas, and tiramisu at 10:30 in the morning. Didn’t need to eat for the rest of the day!

I wouldn't even say social as much as it is a marketing construct.

A little while ago, I had roast for breakfast and breakfast for dinner. We were out the night before so didn’t get chance to go shopping for breakfast stuff, but we had all the stuff for dinner, so we just switched them over.

Is it still breakfast if I've been up all night drinking?

I guess it depends if you ate anything overnight.

It's become a bit of a thing for me to have slightly abnormal breakfasts in the run-up to Christmas within the past few years. I've had cherry bakewells with a load of clotted cream, crème brûlée, and trifle for breakfast - all in separate years, for the record. Felt wrong, but I don't care. It was coming up to Christmas, when all dietary rules go out of the window.

My mom often made extras (dinner) and I took them as my lunch the next day for work. They always laughed at me or looked at me weird for eating something other than bread.

Best part of being an adult is I can make waffles for dinner and there's nobody around to tell me I can't.
