Because people are trying to remember the popular comments from the last weekly thread. "Beatles over rated" wow what a unique hot take.
You should see what happens when I say I don't understand why people like Prince. People collectively lose their shit which I suspect is partially becuase they don't have an answer. You won't see those kind of opinions here. Just "i don't like u2" BRAVE
I mean... do you have an answer as to why you can't understand why people like Prince? I feel like most people that like Prince can say something about why, like "the lyrics resonate with me" or "the tone of his voice is really appealing" or whatever. To say that you can't understand why people like him is to say that you cannot possibly fathom any aspect of Prince's music that people could enjoy.
Or you're just saying you don't like him, which is totally understandable and uncontroversial. I don't like Bob Dylan or Jimi Hendrix, no one cares.
Yeah not a fan of prince and don’t really get the hype of him. Tried listening to his music after everyone talked about how great he was. And his voice and music just was not that appealing. Not saying I listen to any better music. Just curious what the rage is about the specific musician.
I totally feel that. There was simply not a single thing that made me interested in Prince. Not my sound, not my scene, none of it and even his hits couldn't be less of interest to me. Fun times when the girl I was married to for a few years turned out to be a total Prince nut...
Honestly I can see that price was freaking talented. But I don't actually like a lot of his songs.
But man can be play the guitar. There is a video of him playing "while my guitar gently weeps" by the Beatles, in which the guitar for that song was actually done by Eric Clapton. And Prince just plays it like he is playing a finger exercise. Seriously no effort at all.
Lol yes, please explain to me how it’s “brave” to say “I don’t understand why people like Prince.” but “I don’t like U2.” is bRaVe! They both mean the same damn thing except one takes a more ignorant, self-centered view of “I don’t like it, so I don’t get why you would either.” Lots of people upvoted that nonsense too, like it made any sense.
There is a VERY good chance that a song, or more likely 4-5 songs that you or your parents REALLY like from the 1980's was actually written by Prince and not who you think wrote it. Prince did many things in his life that were truly amazing, most of them were for other people, and most of them you don't know about because he didn't do them to be famous from doing it.
U2 was formulaic pop-rock with a heavy social message implied. That's it. Bono once called Prince one of the greatest composers of the 20th century, even Bono knew Prince was on another level.
“I don’t understand why people like Prince.” Translation: people’s opinions are shit and only mine counts. I’m the best, smartest person ever and nobody else matters.
“I don’t like U2.” Translation: I personally don’t like U2.
They don’t mean the same thing at all. Fucking learn English, dipshit.
