Nah it was other substances I took that were harmless. I took them a while ago and now I have more control over my brain and body. It's pretty amazing. I can relax my body and mind whenever I'm sitting still or laying down

What I did was take acid a few weeks ago and focus on controlling myself (meditation as well) to become better overall and it worked. I don't need to take anything to go to sleep now and can always notice when I'm dozing off aswell. the sleep part is only part of what I gained

Making fire with no lighter or matches. I tried rubbing woods and scratching stones like they do in the movies: it doesn't work with me.

Same. I keep a lighter in my utility drawer which I use once every couple of years for melting the ends of nylon strings or ropes.

Eating a spoon of cinnamon
3
u/Ladder-up 22d ago
Maybe a teeny tiny spoon, no way could I do a tablespoon. I'd probably die.
10
u/1ogicalfallacy 22d ago
The trick is to not try and swallow immediately, let it sit in your mouth while actively trying to make more saliva. After a while you should be able to swallow without issue
4
u/Umbraldisappointment 22d ago
Cinnamon is actively hydrophobic, you need a lot of saliva and constantly moving it around to reach the point where you can gulp it down

4
u/SnowyMuscles 22d ago
Just lie in your bed you’ll fall asleep eventually. (When I was younger: Really enjoyed the past 3 days of no sleep due to lying in bed like you told me to mum and before you ask I have tried closing my eyes that doesn’t help.)
13
u/Current_North1366 22d ago
On a similar note, I have an anxiety disorder and quite often I get things like "why are you anxious? There's nothing to be anxious about" or "Just relax" or "It's all in your head". I know they mean well, but i'm like "I know there's nothing to be anxious about and it's all in my head...that's literally the core of my issue!"

u/Umbraldisappointment 22d ago

As someone with diagnosed depression and anxiety, I kind of go back and forth on the idea that despite being wrong, they mean well but could not have any understanding of what it is like, and annoyed that someone would say it.

As someone in the fitness lifestyle, who tracks and weighs everything I put in my mouth, truly its not easy. I try to help others, and often realize how difficult it is for some.
Even me right now, where before I was expending 2500 calories a day eating 2000 was difficult, I assumed (wrongly) now that I expend somewhere between 3500-4000 a day that eating 3000 calories would be glorious, but nope you still experience the same perceived deficit, and even more so, its more grueling because at sub 10% bodyfat, if I literally have no room for error just to shave .15 of a lb.
I always say to people who want to get fit, it doesn't get easier, it actually get harder the more fit you get, so don't get into it thinking you will just get to a level of fitness and be chillaxing, its a commitment and lifestyle.

Walls. Specifically, punching them.
Tried it after watching The Pacifier as a kid, and I was in pain for weeks after. I can't believe the movies lied to me!
3
u/yzlautum 22d ago
I had to pay over a grand in bills from punching walls in my old apt. That was just me after moving out. Lived there for 8 years. I’m a drunk and have severe mental health problems. It doesn’t even phase me to punch concrete because my hands are so fucked.

As a kid I once punched a wall made of drywall, starting out very light then getting a tiny bit harder every punch.
I wasn't even mad, I was just experimenting.
Finally, the wall gave in and there's a fist-sized hole. This was not what I wanted, I just wanted a little dent.

Honestly, I do not know. Few weeks ago I've walked 500 miles, and somewhete along the way there was a mental shift, I went from "I cannot do this, my legs are broken and I have multiple blisters the size of my fingers" to "shit, I did this. What else can I do?", right now all the things I thought were impossible for me seem like they are easy to achieve. I went from "I can never lose any weight" to spending hours exercising every day, from "I just keep eating" to actually following a diet, etc.

I know EXACTLY what you mean.
Last week my fat ass ran 9 MPH for 30 seconds. I never thought I could run that fast for so long. My gut was practically vibrating it was bouncing so hard and fast. I was beaming for 2 days, so proud that I could have done that. Last night I went up to 10.5 MPH for 30 seconds just to test it. The guy next to me went up to 12, so that's my goal for next month. I want to be able to run 12 MPH for at least one 30 second burst. Last month I'd have been like "no fucking way I can do that, that's literally insane", but now I'm like "fuck yah, I bet I can do that!"

In the same vain, breaking the wall while running is one of the hardest things you have to put your mind through. For me it is around 3k, good thing is that after that I don't feel pain anymore, until 20k more or less.
