I once owned the URL www.bustysluts.com
Sold it for $120 over a decade ago. Thought I was the man. Spent the money on bitcoin, only to lose it all during one of those huge hacks.

u/InternalIce9141 22d ago

6
u/FirmDelay 22d ago
Its not impressive... and this was before esports were a thing but it was called Ground Control 2
5
u/InternalIce9141 22d ago
8 out of 8.6 meta critics and it DIDNT sell well? Dude if this sold well I have a feeling you would be quite well known. The game looks fun as fuck
7
u/FirmDelay 22d ago
It was amazing, played thousands of hours on it and met a tonne of awesome people

u/Puzzleheaded-War-286 22d ago
I was the Guildmaster of a huge Guild on World of Warcraft. The greatest achievement was having fun with so many different human characters.
Still speak to a few of them, i always wonder how all the other guys and girls ended up.

I concluded an argument with a stranger in a way where we both agreed with eachother. So far that was the first and only time this happened to me

u/cumfilleddonut5 22d ago
i’ve done this a couple times, love ending a heated debate with “nice debate bro, have a good life 👍” - nothing feels better

u/TheLavaFall 22d ago
I have been on the internet for a decade and have only seen it happen about 5 times in my life.

I once wrote a parody blog that briefly got a lot of attention. Made it to the front pages of Slashdot, CNN online, Time.com. Got spoofed on an American sketch comedy show. Did interviews for a number of newspapers. Then it all died down and all I had to show for it was a couple of spectacular months of ad revenue from the blog.

u/IamNotMike25 22d ago
Did you sell the domain? Nowadays you could sell it for a good price with those backlinks.
3
u/CheeseburgerBrown 22d ago
Link rot happens faster than you think. This was a stupid amount of years ago. 2005. Not a lot juice left in that domain.

Plus a sci-fi masterpiece!
Simon of Space is still one of my favorite pieces of writing after all these years.
Thanks for the wonder!

u/CheeseburgerBrown 20d ago
Hey thanks, dcta, that's kind of you to say!
Please in return accept this heirloom upvote, which has been handed down through my family since the time of swords and monsters.

u/SleepyConscience 22d ago
Awards to given to my various screen names have paid for like 500 hours of Reddit server time.

u/SnooGoats2866 22d ago
4k karma just by writing a shitty comment which pleased the reddit hivemind.

u/CheeseburgerBrown 22d ago

u/austino_dunk 21d ago
was this pretty recent on the one person who asked, "If you could only eat one cultural food for the rest of your life what would it be?" may not of been the exact question but similar.

I had and actual online friend group that would actually play video games with me. Now I don't have anyone to play with.

3
u/InternalIce9141 22d ago

u/Germanweirdo 22d ago
Due to my past experiences I talked to a nice lady in the Phillipines and she didn't try to take her life that night but went to see her parents she was scared to confront due to her extensive bodily harm.
She messaged me a couple of months later with a picture of her and her parents holding up my username.
We aren't in contact anymore, but I see myself as kind of a shitty person, that kind of showed me I'm not as bad as I might see myself as.

You could be a Xenomorph who gave up its life as a killing machine, and now operates the washing machines at a family run Drymat, and has sold its own towels for thousands.
I will choose to believe this

I “beat” an MMO. Traded so much, I was one of the richest people on the server. Did all the quests, had every item including bugged ones. Even had dev parts for my ship. Became player rep for the better part of three years. Literally nothing else I could do short of becoming a dev for the game. Edit: almost forgot. That game also got me a husband but we were never on the same server.

So several years back I got an anti transit city councilor snared in his web of lies
The argument was about putting bus lanes on a street. This councilor posted a photo about how the street was already congested and putting bus lanes would destroy civilization blah blah blah.
During the council meeting I posted that the photo he'd posted wasn't the street in question, but was a different street several klicks away. Another council members' staff member was monitoring the chat, confirmed my message, told his councilor, who then confronted the anti-transit councilor in the middle of the meeting.
We got the bus lane

A few months before Skyrim released in 2011, Planet Elderscrolls held a contest where you had to write a little story about what the Elder Scrolls franchise meant to you and your experience with the games. The first prize was a Skyrim poster signed by the whole Skyrim team at Bethesda.
I won. It has a few dozen or so signatures in silver marker and I can safely Todd Howard's signature is an incomprehensible scribble because 10 years later I still haven't figured out which one is his.

I was playing minecraft on a random guys server because we didn't know how to host a server and the Admin was trolling us by giving us op boots that had looting 10 million and than took it away so me and my friend made a automatic chicken farm that was so good we crashed the server. The server never went online since

Ranking 1st in my area in Tetris for a week. It was only 100k which isn't that high in comparison to worldwide but I felt proud nonetheless.

u/AlleywayGum 22d ago
I made a simple joke on a YouTube video. It got around 10.000 likes.
I'm just glad someone liked my joke since i'm not a naturally funny person.

There is that one local-language website that doesn't allow one person to have multiple accounts.
And there is a report form for multiple accounts, that is used on secondary accounts and asks for "main account". The usual policy is to permban the secondary account and 2-week the main account as a punishment.
One guy was just annoying me, and I was quite drunk, so I reported him as my own secondary account. He got permbanned, I didn't even get a single hour of ban.

My favorite one was back in the old Halo 2 days. I absolutely massacred the other side and before the match ended I stealthily made my way into proximity chat range and I heard the most broken voice I'd heard in my life up to that point say "fuuuuuuck... I hate that [my gamertag] guy" and a lot of very sad "yeah"s.
But then I also made the best friend of my entire life online as well. So also that.

I was one of the top players in the world for a popular mobile rhythm game (SuperStarBTS). Sadly it's been discontinued, but I'll always be extremely proud of that.
Also not my greatest achievement but amusing when I remember it-- I was in a couple Tobuscus gaming videos at one point when I was younger lmfao
There's other things but it's hard to come up with that stuff off the top of my head, I don't have a very good memory. T_T;;; I have a lot of proud moments from Destiny 2, I know that haha

Well, my highest rated comment on Reddit was from a thread asking what embarrassing non porn item be found on your computer, so I replied with my Penguins of Madagascar fanfiction. It got so many upvotes and so many replies.

Believe it or not, I really don't care. I made some statements from reddit throwaways that I saw repeated many times. I was an anonymous influencer and I liked it way more than getting a check.

I was the number 24 of players with the most kills in fortnite on ps4 in the first 4 seasons
(Number 24 was my highest ranking in season 4 which is when the website to track kills per player was made but I’m sure I was way higher before that)

u/lolilolskaleb 21d ago
I set up a creeper spawner right under where people spawn in a online mc server, making the server a litteral endless hellhole

Got banned from "The_Donald"
Received a wonderfully abusive message from a mod as part of the deal.
I'm really proud of that!
