Did you ever created a catfish account and why? Or have you been a victim of catfishing? How did you notice, how did it end?

Yeah me and my buddy got bored and decided to catch pedos on discord, you’d be surprised how many there are

Wish you did this years ago so you could've helped me :)

Just curious, what do you do when you've found a pedo?

Interesting, did you pretend to be a teenager or a child?

I'm currently listening to books written by a foster carer in the UK. Almost every child that comes into care with her lived close. They try to find a foster carer as close as possible because that way the child can go to the same school.

I noticed a lot of the children were abused, and they all lived kinda close to her house before they came into care.

Yes I did have one with a view friends when i was 14/15 years old. We had some very funny conversations and stuff, and even received a dickpic lol.

Was a very funny time and quite memorable too.

I was underaged and writing stories on a Wattpad kind of website. He sent me a message and we exchanged emailadresses. His jokes were fairly sexual and he lied all the time. One day, he decided to call me and I noticed that his voice sounded way older than 14... I cut off contact immediately, and didn't tell anybody about it, until now.

I did have some, but I never actually talked. I just wanted to look legit and gather some info from their personal profiles haha. Not even sure what those things were I wanted to know.

However, I did find out one of my friend used my pictures often to catfish guys she liked. It made me feel very uncomfortable, especially since she used my real name. I told her to stop but I'm not sure I could trust her to do so.

This happened in 2020. Someone who knows me fairly well and follows me on Instagram (or did before I deleted my account) used my pictures to catfish a guy and they had an online relationship va Skype. The person also said pretended to have some oddly specific personality traits of mine and was stupid enough to give out the names of some of my other friends. They didn't use my name, though.

Anyway, this went on for EIGHT MONTHS until the guy started questioning them (no video calls, voice calls only through Skype) and they made up a variety of weird excuses to explain why they couldn't voice call for the dates they had planned (usually work and one time an alleged accident). The guy decides to look around online and, because he knew the names of some of my friends, he found their IGs very easily. Two of my friends told me he sent them a picture of me and asked if they knew who I was so I decided to message him and find out where he got my picture (we had no mutual friends and were continents apart so it was very strange). He first accused me of lying about my identity and wanted to know why but after chatting for about five minutes, I had a fair understanding of what happened and I then explained how I could not have possibly been in a relationship with him since my boyfriend and I have been together over a decade and live together (this was during lockdown so we were always together) so I could not have been the one calling him at 2 am my time and talking for eight hours on the phone. However, he still wasn't convinced so I, along with my boyfriend (who had been updated on the entire situation), decided to video call him on Instagram.

He was first shocked but then soon it turned to hurt and humiliation. He thought he was in love with someone but it all turned out to be lies. He kept apologising to us and we had to reassure him that he wasn't in the wrong - the other person was. We still don't know who it was.

If you've read this all the way to the end - don't catfish anybody. It's a horribly cruel way to fuck with someone. Unless they're a pedo. Then do what you will.

It did. I ended up deleting my Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
