When you give birth and the baby is taken away for tests, is your husband going to be staying with you or following the baby? Discussion

I’m just curious what others did/ might be doing! I’ve had a comparatively easy pregnancy so far and am expecting to have an uncomplicated vaginal delivery. I’ve had this recurring dream of baby being switched out with another one in the hospital like those Korean dramas and told my boyfriend to definitely stick with the baby afterwards if the baby was going to be taken away to be cleaned up or for tests etc. while I was being stitched up and cleaned. However, he said that he would rather stick with me as he feels that I would need him more during that time as I would most likely tear and would be getting stitches while baby would most likely be healthy and whole. What are your thoughts?

They put LoJack on a baby? Did you give birth in Gotham city?

It’s very common in the US and a standard for certain hospital safety rules. The bracelets cause all of the exit doors to lock in the family birth centers.

Our hospital put an alarm on the baby that looked like the ones they put on clothes to prevent shoplifting. It was attached to his umbilical cord clamp. They took it, and the clamp, off when we left the hospital.

Hilariously, it kept falling off my teeny tiny first baby and setting off the alarms.
