[McMurphy] Nebraska Cornhuskers Football & Coach Scott Frost Under Investigation for NCAA Violations News

From the article... Nebraska’s football program and coach Scott Frost are under NCAA investigation for improper use of analysts and consultants during practices and games, sources told The Action Network.

The school, sources said, has “significant video footage” confirming the practice violations took place in the presence of Frost and other assistants.

Frost has obtained legal counsel, and the NCAA has interviewed Frost, multiple current and former staff members, administration and football players regarding the allegations, sources said. The allegations date back 12 months.

Also, last year — when the NCAA prohibited organized athletic activities because of the pandemic — Nebraska relocated its strength workouts to an undisclosed off-campus location to avoid detection by non-football school officials, sources said.

He was fired for going 9-4 and being a fucking asshole.

Not saying it’s right, but if he had the temperament of Frost I don’t think he would have been fired.

Not to mention those 4 losses being by a combined 1,000 points.

I agree. The people who say it was only four losses weren’t actually watching the games.

Yeah but now you're losing 7 or 8 games a year by 1000 points so...

And what’s Bo up to?

Sure felt like it. Nobody remembers going 10-4 in 2012. They remember giving up 70 in the B1G Championship to Wisconsin in 2012. Even a lot of those wins felt like they were waaayyy closer than they should have been by our expectations at the time.

There are plenty of coaches who are fucking assholes and don't get fired. And I'm actually curious as to what you mean by being an asshole. Was it yelling on the field, or calling Nebraska fans fair-weather?

Our crowd. What a bunch of f------ fair-weather f------ — they can all kiss my ass out the f------ door. 'Cause the day is f------ coming now. We'll see what they can do when I'm f------ gone.

I think that's the quote in question (recorded without his knowledge and released to the public years later). Is that really what we're talking about? Because if so I would say he sure looks vindicated in hindsight.

He tried to slap a ref with his hat, he melted down like a toddler on our QB on prime time. He spit on refs. More than one Audio like that. He recruited very off balance classes that left the team seriously depleted in some areas. He lost every big game. If you didn’t ever watch the pressers you’ll never know the eye rolling phrase “we just didn’t execute”. Every. Single. Loss. You lost by like 50, of course you didn’t execute FFS. Why is the same LB out there missing Melvin Gordon again and again for three quarters? Oooooh it’s because you didn’t recruit enough OLBs and he’s our only option. Late Pelini was so much more of a shit show than the Bolievers will ever admit.

And if his record was 11-2 not 9-4, he would still be their coach.

Which do you really think was the bigger problem?

Considering it’s harder to cut 4 losses down to 2 than it is to stop screaming at 20 year olds on national television, I would say he probably would have been well served to work on his temperament.

I’m not defending this mindset, I’m just saying I knew a lot of older soft-ass Nebraska fans that were appalled by that shit. It made it a lot easier for them to turn on the guy.

Of course. Good ole 9-4 Earle wasn’t solely fired because of his mediocre record. The administration and basically every Ohio high school coach hated him.

You better be great if you are going to be a jerk. But make no mistake, 11-2 and Bo and Earle wouldn’t have gotten canned. Of course, maybe Earle isn’t 9-4 if he didn’t piss off so many high school coaches.

He absolutely would have still been fired. Nebraska has learned some painful lessons under Riley and Frost. They still considered themselves a top program that deserved better than 9-10 wins a year during the Pelini era. I'm not actually sure a lot of Nebraska fans have really internalized those lessons even today, but they certainly hadn't back then.
