Yeah he’s converted those defenses into 0 tournament appearances despite elite recruiting classes. He was hired as a bag man and now that it’s not necessary we’ll see how long that lasts.
To be completely fair, first year was mostly tubby players. Year after was wiseman playing only three games and DJ (our third best player) having a season ending injury. This year our only real losses towards the end of the season were both to a Houston team that went to the final four and were by like an avg of a bucket. We had an abysmal start but finished Kempom top 25ish I believe and #1 defense which could've easily been argued that they were a tournament worthy team. Is it still a lack of results? yes and no given the circumstances
There is also to fact that had we shot just 10% better from the free throw line we would have been a 1 loss team at the end of the year. Hell we would have beat Houston by double digits if we didn't shoot like shit from the line. I just love how people point to how we haven't been to the tournament yet. Dude is new to college hoops. It was never going to happen overnight. I say he has done a pretty damn good job considering the bullshit with Wiseman and the pandemic. I'm sure you can find a shitload of top recruiting classes on Blueblood teams that never worked out through history. Just him convincing kids to come here after the turd sandwich we became thanks to Tubby/Pastner is a success in my book.
Yeah, you’re looking at the wrong year. We beat USF twice last year. ECU scored 53 and 59. Tulane scored 46 and 74. Our bad losses were both to Tulsa and that’s just AAC things.

Nunber 5 defense in the country in his second year and number 1 defense in the country in his third year. Did he trip and fall into that?
