I mean, obviously there’s all sorts of people in Bellevue. It’s a pretty big city. But generally, Bellevue is seen as more conservative than Seattle. The eastside is in general.
Obviously not usually Trump level conservative, but definitely not the type of people to vote for Kshama Sawant either.
I have also encountered a lot of Microsoft employees who don’t spend much time in Seattle and feel like it is some kind of chaotic hellhole. Maybe that’s more of a Redmond thing though.
Thanks for the reply. We moved here from the Carolinas about ten years ago so I always find it interesting to see how perceptions are. I agree that the Eastside is definitely more centrist than Seattle but I’ve met very few actual conservative folks. The ones that I have met all tend to be transplants and not home grown, though I’m sure those exist too. And you’re right about the Microsoft thing, it might be a Redmond thing too but it definitely applies to a good portion of Microsoft.
Yeah, it’s definitely not very conservative, just more so than Seattle. Although I think the eastside had a Republican state Representative (or maybe state senator?) until recently, which is pretty surprising for any part of the greater Seattle area.
We definitely love the change. We like Bellevue because its safe and close to work. I suspect we’ll be priced out soon though. Not sure where we end up once that happens. Appreciate your thoughts and insights.

As a Bellevue resident, I’m curious what label you’d give the residents? I’m genuinely asking and not trolling.
