Thanks for the reply. We moved here from the Carolinas about ten years ago so I always find it interesting to see how perceptions are. I agree that the Eastside is definitely more centrist than Seattle but I’ve met very few actual conservative folks. The ones that I have met all tend to be transplants and not home grown, though I’m sure those exist too. And you’re right about the Microsoft thing, it might be a Redmond thing too but it definitely applies to a good portion of Microsoft.
Yeah, it’s definitely not very conservative, just more so than Seattle. Although I think the eastside had a Republican state Representative (or maybe state senator?) until recently, which is pretty surprising for any part of the greater Seattle area.
We definitely love the change. We like Bellevue because its safe and close to work. I suspect we’ll be priced out soon though. Not sure where we end up once that happens. Appreciate your thoughts and insights.
