Man remember begging your parents to dump a quarter into those things not realizing what their real purpose was? Now that I think about it my parents made me sleep in some shitty hotels

I need context because I have no idea what you are talking about.

Vibrating beds are a real thing at seedy hotels.

I'm scared to ask, but what was their real purpose? I mean, now that I think about it, it probably wouldn't be a great massage, but I can't think how it'd be a sex thing?

From my understanding it was never really a sex thing but more of a health thing. They were popular as kind of a one cure for all physical ailments and were used as a selling point for cheaper hotels. Turns out they’re just loud and don’t do anything for you so a ton of chains dropped them.

My guess is nickel and dime techniques.

No, I don't think I ever begged my parents to put quarters in a dog. Or a kitten, for that matter.
