Random fact: Cat purrs can improve bone density and promote healing, due to their frequency of 25 to 150 hertz.

I was having really intense pain in my ear (that ended up rupturing my ear drum!) and I was lying in bed crying, trying desperately to fall asleep but couldn't. My cat jumped up onto the bed and laid with his body pressed up against my head near the side the hurt and purred like a fucking engine. It was loud and soft and it distracted me enough from the pain that I fell asleep. First thing in the morning I went to the doctor for antibiotics which helped bring the pain down. Yay for cats and modern medicine :)

Growing up I had just the sweetest cat ever. I still remember vividly growing up how when I felt sick or was upset she would , almost without fail, curl up with me and purr for a while to make me feel better.

Anyone who says cats don't care has never owned one.
