This comment just made me think, and I'm sure many others have had this thought, reddit should have a way to separate saved posts. Like folders or something and all the cute shit to make me feel better would be saved in the cute shit to make me feel better folder for easy access.

Bookmarks…

In the before-times we had this thing called "kohmputers". They would have worked great for this. You could organize and store just about anything on these magical spinny-spinny disks.

Using the site in a web browser will let you use the find function of the browser on your saved posts page. Might have to scroll to the end a few times to load more but you can do that almost instantly with the slider that appears when scrolling long pages on most browsers

Not sure if any reddit apps let you "ctrl-f"

Apollo allows you to search your saved posts, thank god

Sadly to become a higher up at reddit you probably have to prove that you would never spend a dime you don't absolutely need too

porn - porn - cute thing - porn - tutorial to never be referenced again - porn

Also, the post on what to do if one wins the lottery, just in case

I feel attacked.

Or very understood.

I'm not sure.

u/AussieBird82 14d ago

Someone just linked that yesterday, and I did indeed save it! I don't even buy tickets.

3

u/rafaelloaa 15d ago

TLDR basically this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2uHhEsVQtSQ (NSFW-ish, lots of boobs in bras).

3

u/ohyeahthatsfine 15d ago

Your video of a song parody about boobs fortunately reminded me of old video on YouTube from the distant year of 2008 https://youtu.be/fW6DIAhMgTc

Yeah I agree! I'm tired of having my funny posts be saved next to all my hentai! Lol

2

u/Icehuntee 14d ago

I'm tired of seeing the useful educational posts, right next to the funny ones, right next to the literal porn, right next to NSFL posts.

As a matter of fact, it does. But it requires Reddit Premium, and if it runs out it deletes all of the folders except for the main one...

3

u/Roflkopt3r 15d ago

Due to modern webbrowser accounts I find there is no use for it anyway. I can just use my browser's boomark feature to have perfect folder management and syncing between devices.

6

u/eldub27 15d ago

Even fb and insta have that :p

6

u/G36_FTW 15d ago

My saved posts / comments are just all the posts and comments that I fat fingered save on and never bothered to undo.

I don't remember the last time I've seen anyone else even mention the option.

2

u/berberine 15d ago

I save stuff all the time, but I also make sure to go clean out the saved bits once a week. I wish we had folders because I end up downloading shit like this post and have them in folders on my computer.

4

u/balzaque55 15d ago

This has been suggested in the Reddit improvement or beta sub multiple times.... Out just never gets any attention from developers

6

u/IzarkKiaTarj 14d ago

That's because Reddit already has that feature... in premium.

They're ignoring it because they don't want to stop charging money for it.

2

u/balzaque55 14d ago

Makes sense. I'll survive without it then 😂

3

u/berberine 15d ago

I will save stuff at work on my laptop and sort it out on my desktop when I get home. For vids like this one, I just download them and keep them on my computer or put them on phone.

If I could save my stuff into folders here on reddit, I would.

1

u/subignition 15d ago

yeah i mean the site is named reddit. it should be themed around showing other people the cool things you f--

wait

1

u/inconsistencydenied 15d ago

BoostforMobile has this option!

1

u/username_crashed 15d ago

Or if you could sort by what subreddit you have saved posts for. I imagine this would be a bit harder to make though but it would be a whole lot easier to find certain things you saved in a specific subreddit instead of scrolling and trying to find it.

1

u/zuraken 15d ago

Just bookmark them on your browser or if you want to save it incase it gets deleted at some point, just take screenshots

1

u/DerMaxPower 15d ago

That's a Reddit premium feature. But no thanks, I don't want to give them money for questionable decisions.

1

u/BloodprinceOZ 15d ago

that already exists, but its relegated to Reddit Premium only, and it can only contain so much before it wipes everything except the main section

1

u/Darth_Thor 15d ago

For all the things I hate about Instagram's UI, I can commend them for having folders to put your saved posts into.

1

u/ronin1066 14d ago

When i save, it asks for a category.

1

u/lanikint 14d ago

It took years for Imgur to get favorite folders, after they got it I still barely used it. I'm a lazy fuck though

1

u/TheGameSlave2 14d ago

Imgur figured it out, so I don't fully understand why Reddit hasn't done this yet.

1

u/GreatWhiteBuffalo41 14d ago

I'm going to be useless because I can't remember the name but there's an app/website that can do that. But, reddit should step up it's game and do that natively

1

u/somethingclever____ 14d ago

This might seem silly, but I save mine outside of Reddit by posting them to private Pinterest boards. It allows me to easily scroll through things visually and to organize it however I prefer.

1

u/teqqqie 14d ago

If you go to IFTTT.com and search for the "Save Reddit to Pocket" applet, you can connect your Reddit account to a Pocket account, and it will automatically add posts you save on Reddit to folders, organized by subreddit.

1

u/xjulesx21 14d ago

reddit neeeeds to add folders to saved posts. sometimes I save something for school, sometimes just something cute like this, sometimes it’s about traveling or cars, so many different reasons I save thing so it’d be soo incredibly helpful to have folders 😩

1

u/tibstibs 14d ago

You could always use the bookmark function in whatever web browser you're using, and make subfolders.
