These little deformed cats make me sad whenever I see them

I was wondering what the fuck was wrong with its legs. When it pops up in the beginning, its arms flap like they have no bones in them.

Me too. I wish they weren’t blasted all over Reddit so people wouldn’t normalize and continue to produce them.

I would adopt one if I could but not seek it out. I want to rescue an animal. People who do this on purpose should burn

I feel the same. Also pugs and other races

Pugs can barely breathe

And bulldogs can't even breed without human intervention, from what I've heard.

Oh my god it’s so cute but I still think about how Munchkin cats hit their chins when they land a big jump. I would like for cats to be able to do what they want without hitting their faces all the time

Oh my god the way his arms flop 😩😩😩😩
But also! I think I saw Jackson Galaxy talk about These cats and say that they can never be normal cats, they can’t jump, can’t escape, they can’t defend themselves as well as cats with regular height and build. I think the cost is too high for this breed to keep existing.

isn't this cat specifically bred with little to no bones in its short paws or smth?

u/WikiWantsYourPics 15d ago
No, it's just bred for a form of dwarfism, like Dachshunds.
It's terrible that people breed them, and it shouldn't be normalised.

Why does this cat look like his daddy was a ferret?! I mean, cute cat but something seems off.

It's a 'munchkin' breed, which has a genetic defect that cause the short limbs and a multitude of other problems as a result.

Awww poor kitty.

Can't wait for the collapse of society so we'll be forced to focus on surviving and leave these poor animals alone

Sounds exciting. When do we start?

u/hoverspool 14d ago
Don’t worry, it starts after everyone in this thread already starves to death

u/igotalotadogs 14d ago
Not me. I am willing to eat people. I hear they go well with fava beans and chianti.

That's just brains. You'll need more recipes to consume the whole entire human

It’ll be the end of the world. I’ll have nothing but time to learn what flavors go well together.

Hmm. I thought that the kitty someone dumped at our farm was a munchkin, but he definitely does not look like this. Our little man (Gimli, of course) has bowed, short legs. He also has a bit of a "pushed-in" looking face. He has the best purr motor ever! All he wants is to be held, scratched, and loved. I'm furious that someone left him to fend for himself when he was little more than a baby. We had him neutered, and we've taught him not to bite when he gets overstimulated. He's just the best baby.

Oh god not again. Re-cap time.
He is legally adorable. He may be suffering from health issues. Stop breeding munchkins, but don’t hate the cats themselves. Care for the munchkins we have but don’t make anymore.
Adopt don’t shop.

Why is it that breeding went from being cute but can do basic things to giving it disabilities makes it cuter that's like trying to have a kid with no legs it's stupid.

Ok help me out here…are people breeding cats to have these little legs? He’s cute but if that’s the case then this is just plain wrong.
