In the industry so I’m curious what types of jobs did you apply for and what race are you. Are you saying your not being interviewed because your a protected class or that your white so your not going to help with diversity quotas

What would your guess be from the post? Lots of people are assuming thay I'm white or that being white is somehow a monolith that doesn't include any protected ethnic attributes.

I'm just a BA(hons) graduate who grew up poor and decided study for 3 years during a pandemic to improve their chances of social mobility. And I'm being refused the chance to use the qualification for that because of a number of things that are entirely beyond my control.

I’m not convinced. This has to be coincidence. In business the only color that matters is green. You could be purple and have genders coming out your nose, as long as you can make them money then there’s no such thing as the ‘wrong’ color.

Also, we’re not living in the 20th century anymore. We have BLM, the gender equality movement, Netflix adaptations,… I’m sure there must have been other things wrong with your resume like for example typo’s.

Just because we have those things doesn't mean systematic racism doesn't exist anymore. It means it still does.

I’m sure racism still exists in certain places, but that 200 companies wouldn’t hire OP because they’re the ‘wrong’ color… that’s bullshit.

Or it actually happened and it's interesting enough to read on reddit. Lot of people in the world. Lots of chances.

Like your idiot's apostrophe?

I've seen plenty of jobs that openly advertise favoring their canidate being of a certain race/group of people in our industry. Not sure if this is OP's exact reason for not finding work, but I've absolutely seen it.

Which ethnicity are you? Not sure if you’re complaining of racism or excessive affirmative action.
