4 times more likely to die within the first year, as opposed to someone who has been vaccinated, in fact. But when you believe your aunt Sarah (who was a vet tech in 1996), Russian memes and Fox News over the entirety of the medical and scientific community, there's not a chance statistics like that will help curb the MAGA Death Cult.
120
u/JazzyRob123 Jan 26 '22
Oh they’ll find a way to blame it on the vaccinated. We shed our electronic particles too close to them or something. 🥴
93
u/niftytastic Jan 26 '22
The idea of shedding, that I’ve seen the crazier antivaxxers push (eg putting signs on their vans and driving around with that message. Seen that in my city) and it being harmful to them is such a crazy concept to wrap my mind around.
If they are seeing all of these vaccinated people not dying but unvaccinated people dying due to the external “shedding” as they presume, wouldn’t they want to either 1) completely live off the grid and away from potential “shedding” and 2) better to be the one shedding and not dying vs getting shed on and dying?
So nuts.
→ More replies65
u/RedChairBlueChair123 Jan 26 '22
Shedding can happen with a polio vaccine that has not been in use in the US since 2000. That vaccine is still in use in some countries. Also it can only effect you if you are immunocompromised and come in contact with poop.
So shedding is a thing, but it’s extremely rare, not in the US, and can only happen under specific conditions. If you come across this talking point in the wild that’s the response: Stop playing with poop, you immunocompromised dope.

u/Vuelhering ✨🇺🇸 Let's Go Darwin 🇺🇸✨ Jan 26 '22 •

Shedding can only happen with weakened or dead strain vaccines. The covid vaccines have no virus in them whatsoever. It's not possible to "shed" the virus from the vaccine.
not possible

u/WhyLisaWhy Jan 26 '22
AFAIK with mRNA vaccines it's not even a concern either. There's no dead virus being injected, just a bit of mRNA telling your cells what kind of antibodies to produce.
17
u/PerniciousSnitOG Team Mix & Match Jan 26 '22
Yep. The mRNA vaccines are basically "wanted" posters for a murderer, not the murderer. Some people are too stupid to see the difference.
9
u/Live-Weekend6532 Jan 26 '22
And the AstroZenica and J&J vaccines use a modified adrenovirus to deliver the spike protein. Ppl who get those vaccines can't shed bc it's not the whole virus but even if they could, they'd be shedding an adrenovirus, not covid.

Correct. The article I read that contained the study was recent.

Edit: I may have misread. I read it as a percentage of the men still had lowered sperm count after 2 months, then "estimated recovery time 3 months" as meaning 5 months total. But maybe they meant 3 months? It doesn't explicitly say they tested the men again at 3 months or even after the 2 month test.

Yes. So far, everything we know about covid 19 is only as old as our awareness of this specific disease. The pandemic is nowhere near over. The survivors have not survived very long.
We can't know the future. We can only extrapolate data, which is still relatively limited. We've had a century to study the flu pandemic.
I find it funny that the same people who insist we don't have enough data to support vaccines which have been in development for decades are ignoring the fact that we have no long term data on disease progression. By the time we have such data, most of the people who claim they need it to get vaccinated instead will be long dead, even if they never have covid.

It might as well be 1522 instead of 2022. Are we making zero progress as a species? Are we maybe even moving backward? What the hell is wrong here? Are humans doomed to fail because we prefer superstition and religious fairy tales over science and truth? This entire pandemic plus the 4 years of the 🍊💩🤡 presidency has suggested to me that the human brain cannot handle the complexities and nuances necessary for our continued survival. The troglodytes among us are going to kill us all.

Unfortunately, I do think we're regressing...but in more of a "parting of the Red Sea" way -- like, some people are regressing because they weren't properly trained (for lack of a better term) to trust in the real stuff (math, science), and, instead, were trained to just "let go and let God", which is SO much easier than challenging one's long-held beliefs (that they only came to believe based on the environment in which they were raised).
The other side of the Red Sea is us -- those who have benefitted so mightily from all of our progress over the years...and have the conscientiousness to understand how to best leverage that progress to continue to evolve as a species.
But, it's super disturbing, as you've noted

u/blackcain Jan 26 '22
There is no greater scam than religion - honestly. We're up against a set of rules that no one can ever live up to. The rules are used to take advantage of other people, and finally they use religion to do something horrible - the opposite it was designed to do.
I couldn't help but notice in the second to last slide - their idea of an afterlife is to go live in a mansion. Seriously - what?
→ More replies16

If they had any knowledge of the religion they pretend to preach (and you 100% know they don't), they'd have learned that the concept of heaven/hell never even existed initially. That was entirely fabricated to convert other religions that did have an afterlife and were stubborn at conversion, cause why would anybody want to follow a shit religion with no afterlife?
They're dying for a foundation of lies established millennia ago and without a shred of awareness.

In the Bible, even if God do intervene, people still have to act to actually benefit the blessings. For example: as Israelites escape from their Egyptian captors, God blocks the latter with wall of fire, then provided escape route for the former by parting the Red Sea. Israelites don't just stand there in awe, they have to cross to evade.

In grad school, I remember sitting through a seminar by a professor who was working on cancer vaccines. And I don't mean vaccine against a virus that causes cancer like HPV. I mean actual vaccines that target cancer cells.
The concept is actually pretty simple. Identity a surface antigen that's unique to cancer cells, and then use that as the active ingredient in your vaccine (or the mRNA that codes for it, if it's a surface protein). It literally trains immune cells to recognize and destroy cancer cells.

Other things he fought :
- equality
- tolerance
- kindness towards those less fortunate
He's resting somewhere all right, but it's not paradise.

The friend's idea of heaven is laughable too. Jesus is just a real estate agent and let's you pick out a mansion on Heaven Blvd.
They are so caught up in consumerism they can't even imagine heaven without asking for more and bigger and better stuff.

Really pisses me off that people post the most hateful, vile things but then at the very end they are deemed “virtuous” people who will surely be welcomed with open arms into heaven. The mental gymnastics these frauds go through is mind boggling

It's pretty cut and dry. If they're in the same tribe (socially, ethnically, religiously, politically, racially) then they're good people and deserve sympathy and heaven. If they're in the out group then they deserve none of those things and are probably child molesters and are going to hell.

Huh, weird how God's healing powers only work in the ER for some reason.

What a fucking waste. As someone who lost the love of my life to stage 4 breast cancer, this pisses me off. He got a second chance at life and threw it away. I’d give anything to have her back. I never get after these award winners but this guy can rot.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Cancer fucking sucks. I’ve lost several dear ones to it and I feel the same way - to get a second chance and have it wasted on these pieces of ignorant shit is infuriating

What a waste of a cancer treatment. I’m glad that one idiot got denied the heart transplant because of his refusal to get vaccinated. Cancer treatments should be the same, unless the person cannot medically get the vaccine

u/DaniCapsFan Team Moderna Jan 26 '22
Conservatives are having shit fits over it and calling it monstrous. But the dude would literally rather die and leave behind two young children than get a vaccine. And the fact that he refuses to get a vaccine probably makes the medical team question whether or not he would stick to their regimen of anti-rejection drugs (which fuck up your immune system) and other care.
The bohunk featured in this post was diagnosed, it seems, in July of 2020, probably went through treatment, during which he was shitposting about masks and vaccines--two things that absolutely would save his life--and when he was told he could get a vaccine, refused.

The Iwo Jima picture being used for that "We owe illegals nothing"meme is especially frustrating. One of the marines pictured (Sgt. Michael Strank, who was KIA) was an immigrant, and another (Cpl. Rene Gagnon) was the son of immigrants .

As part of my cancer treatment I had to be up to date on all my vaccines. And was told that now since my immune is low, I need to be diligent about not getting a flu or pneumonia. Well covid causes a pneumonia. So I got my vaccine as one of the first groups. And the booster. I'm still here and have survived 2 devasting cancers!

Can we just separate ourselves from these people already? Let them have thier gods, guns and science education free society. We can keep the science and scientists, scary pharmaceutical companies, 5G, and higher education. If they want to use our science based hospitals, they're gonna have to pay hefty border crossing tolls.

Seems that “prayer warriors” had become part of the antivax vernacular. I see it used almost 100% in these HCA posts. Funny. I’ve never used it once and never will. More prayer warriors for them.
