He sure sucked up a lot of that "liberal science" to cure his cancer though didn't he?

He clearly wasn't the fighter they all thought he was or else he'd have totally kicked COVID's ass.

I truly don't understand that whole "fighter" metaphor with them. COVID doesn't care if you're a coward or have ALL THE GUNS, it will still kill you.

COVID is like Honey Badger, it just don't give a shit!

u/Mysterious_Status_11 Stick a fork in Meatloaf🍴 Jan 26 '22

My brother had non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. His treatment consisted of many therapies that did almost as much damage to the rest of his body as they did to the cancer, along with several that were in trials, experimental, unauthorized, and used off-label. I am assuming this man's cancer treatment was similar. I'm willing to guess he never questioned what they were putting in his body and had zero interest in any ingredients, including fetal or stem cells. NHL treatment is brutal. That he would endure it just to succumb to unvaxxed Covid is insanity. I suppose we will be studying the mental illness, mass psychosis, and cult behavior of the (mostly) Trumpies for years to come.

u/RogerClyneIsAGod2 Team Moderna Jan 26 '22

I'm willing to guess he never questioned what they were putting in his body and had zero interest in any ingredients...

Oh you KNOW he didn't.

Though I do wonder if they'd told him "Sir, this was made with pureed medical waste, do you still want to take this treatment to live?" if he'd have said no.

Hell he didn't even do enough research to spell Hodgkin right. And as a survivor of the treatment it irks me.

As a fellow survivor, it’s downright shocking to hear about a fellow survivor choosing not to get vaccinated. I mean Jesus Christ, those chemo drugs are fucking crazy. How can you watch them inject a giant syringe full of bright red Adriamycin directly into your fucking chest, knowing that shit is the worst toxic poison in the world if it misses a major vein (don’t look up what happens when they miss, trust me), but then see the itty bitty vaccine needle and say “nope. I don’t trust the science.”

It’s fucking mind boggling.

Also claiming people are still alive because they are "a fighter" is just arrogant as fuck. It implies that people who died are somehow less willing to live?

15

u/ElizAnd2Cats Jan 27 '22

Exactly. It gives people a sense of control. If I get cancer someday, I know I will survive because I will fight like a winner rather than be one of those weak losers who die. It's also because I will be blessed by God whereas all the dead were not in his good graces like I am. All these terrible ways they comfort themselves by denigrating people unlucky enough to suffer and die.

4 times more likely to die within the first year, as opposed to someone who has been vaccinated, in fact. But when you believe your aunt Sarah (who was a vet tech in 1996), Russian memes and Fox News over the entirety of the medical and scientific community, there's not a chance statistics like that will help curb the MAGA Death Cult.

120

u/JazzyRob123 Jan 26 '22

Oh they’ll find a way to blame it on the vaccinated. We shed our electronic particles too close to them or something. 🥴

93

u/niftytastic Jan 26 '22

The idea of shedding, that I’ve seen the crazier antivaxxers push (eg putting signs on their vans and driving around with that message. Seen that in my city) and it being harmful to them is such a crazy concept to wrap my mind around.

If they are seeing all of these vaccinated people not dying but unvaccinated people dying due to the external “shedding” as they presume, wouldn’t they want to either 1) completely live off the grid and away from potential “shedding” and 2) better to be the one shedding and not dying vs getting shed on and dying?

So nuts.

65

u/RedChairBlueChair123 Jan 26 '22

Shedding can happen with a polio vaccine that has not been in use in the US since 2000. That vaccine is still in use in some countries. Also it can only effect you if you are immunocompromised and come in contact with poop.

So shedding is a thing, but it’s extremely rare, not in the US, and can only happen under specific conditions. If you come across this talking point in the wild that’s the response: Stop playing with poop, you immunocompromised dope.

55

u/Vuelhering ✨🇺🇸 Let's Go Darwin 🇺🇸✨ Jan 26 '22 Silver

Shedding can only happen with weakened or dead strain vaccines. The covid vaccines have no virus in them whatsoever. It's not possible to "shed" the virus from the vaccine.

not possible

19

u/WhyLisaWhy Jan 26 '22

AFAIK with mRNA vaccines it's not even a concern either. There's no dead virus being injected, just a bit of mRNA telling your cells what kind of antibodies to produce.

17

u/PerniciousSnitOG Team Mix & Match Jan 26 '22

Yep. The mRNA vaccines are basically "wanted" posters for a murderer, not the murderer. Some people are too stupid to see the difference.

9

u/Live-Weekend6532 Jan 26 '22

And the AstroZenica and J&J vaccines use a modified adrenovirus to deliver the spike protein. Ppl who get those vaccines can't shed bc it's not the whole virus but even if they could, they'd be shedding an adrenovirus, not covid.

"5 months or more" means "that's as much data we have right now". I have a feeling those effects continue longer.

23

u/goosejail 🦆 Jan 26 '22

Correct. The article I read that contained the study was recent.

https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0015028221021567

Edit: I may have misread. I read it as a percentage of the men still had lowered sperm count after 2 months, then "estimated recovery time 3 months" as meaning 5 months total. But maybe they meant 3 months? It doesn't explicitly say they tested the men again at 3 months or even after the 2 month test.

14

u/Ragingredblue 🐎Praise the Lord and pass the Ivermectin!🐆 Jan 26 '22

Yes. So far, everything we know about covid 19 is only as old as our awareness of this specific disease. The pandemic is nowhere near over. The survivors have not survived very long.

We can't know the future. We can only extrapolate data, which is still relatively limited. We've had a century to study the flu pandemic.

I find it funny that the same people who insist we don't have enough data to support vaccines which have been in development for decades are ignoring the fact that we have no long term data on disease progression. By the time we have such data, most of the people who claim they need it to get vaccinated instead will be long dead, even if they never have covid.

That is definitely disturbing but what is more disturbing (and horrifying and depressing and disgusting…shall I go on?) is how many of these sadly delusional people are out there. Unfortunately, I do think we're regressing...but in more of a "parting of the Red Sea" way -- like, some people are regressing because they weren't properly trained (for lack of a better term) to trust in the real stuff (math, science), and, instead, were trained to just "let go and let God", which is SO much easier than challenging one's long-held beliefs (that they only came to believe based on the environment in which they were raised).

The other side of the Red Sea is us -- those who have benefitted so mightily from all of our progress over the years...and have the conscientiousness to understand how to best leverage that progress to continue to evolve as a species.

But, it's super disturbing, as you've noted

46

u/blackcain Jan 26 '22

There is no greater scam than religion - honestly. We're up against a set of rules that no one can ever live up to. The rules are used to take advantage of other people, and finally they use religion to do something horrible - the opposite it was designed to do.

I couldn't help but notice in the second to last slide - their idea of an afterlife is to go live in a mansion. Seriously - what?

16

u/DBrody6 Jan 26 '22

If they had any knowledge of the religion they pretend to preach (and you 100% know they don't), they'd have learned that the concept of heaven/hell never even existed initially. That was entirely fabricated to convert other religions that did have an afterlife and were stubborn at conversion, cause why would anybody want to follow a shit religion with no afterlife?

They're dying for a foundation of lies established millennia ago and without a shred of awareness.

What? I share pics of Biden as an action hero, a muscular boxer, an angel, a crusader in armor, a god-emperor and an all-around adonis all the time! Totally normal, non-cultish stuff!

79

u/tkp14 Jan 26 '22

There is no logic. I read a theory that these fools are engaging in caste behavior: they literally believe they are members of a caste that is massively superior to everyone else and that 1) no one is EVER allowed to tell them what to do, and 2) they are so pure and perfect (Aryan blood, don’t you know) that Covid cannot touch them. All the nasty, self-righteous, racist memes are just covering up their true belief: that they are superior.

Note for sociologists of religion: How often believers think that their god is going to solve their problems for them and as a consequence they don't do anything about a particular situation or do the wrong thing.

46

u/DBClass407 Ministry of Memory Cells Jan 26 '22

In the Bible, even if God do intervene, people still have to act to actually benefit the blessings. For example: as Israelites escape from their Egyptian captors, God blocks the latter with wall of fire, then provided escape route for the former by parting the Red Sea. Israelites don't just stand there in awe, they have to cross to evade.

In grad school, I remember sitting through a seminar by a professor who was working on cancer vaccines. And I don't mean vaccine against a virus that causes cancer like HPV. I mean actual vaccines that target cancer cells.

The concept is actually pretty simple. Identity a surface antigen that's unique to cancer cells, and then use that as the active ingredient in your vaccine (or the mRNA that codes for it, if it's a surface protein). It literally trains immune cells to recognize and destroy cancer cells.

11

u/DaniCapsFan Team Moderna Jan 26 '22

Conservatives are having shit fits over it and calling it monstrous. But the dude would literally rather die and leave behind two young children than get a vaccine. And the fact that he refuses to get a vaccine probably makes the medical team question whether or not he would stick to their regimen of anti-rejection drugs (which fuck up your immune system) and other care.

The bohunk featured in this post was diagnosed, it seems, in July of 2020, probably went through treatment, during which he was shitposting about masks and vaccines--two things that absolutely would save his life--and when he was told he could get a vaccine, refused.
