This has to be bullshit. Cow's eyes aren't forward facing. There's no way the screens on htose VR glasses are anywhere near the cow's actual eyes.

With cow's eyes on the sides of their heads, they're probably getting covered up by the strap.

Put mirrors in

Will take a lot more than mirrors. Those lenses are parabolic. You'd have to fundamentally change where the screens and lens systems are.

Then you'd have to completely change the rendering software because it's assuming the point of view is coming from a typical human location: Front facing eyes relatively close together.

I'm not buying it.

Hey at least we are talking about developing VR technology for cows on the internet today.

Or Don't

the press release says the experiment wasn’t conducted by a university but by “Milknews.ru,” a news site for the Russian dairy industry. It also encourages readers to sign up for the upcoming “VI International Agro-Industrial Dairy Forum” where they can learn more about technology in agriculture. This suggests the VR cows might just be a good way to get attention for an otherwise run-of-the-mill conference. If so: job done.
