I found ya! Etsy, yeah? I copied the link to my notes so I can look later. Thanks so much, you do beautiful work.
Ever done a lampshade? Maybe a glass cylinder one? When I see these I just imagine them with light coming through from behind.

The artwork is amazing, I just don't understand the anxiety part, can you explain?
2
u/MEKYAS23 Jul 16 '21
Sorry for confusion, this piece was 24"x48" and the largest I've done at this point was 12"x36". It just really felt like it was out of my wheel house.

Fair enough, well done friend, is there a limit to how much bigger these can get, like, if you were to get more comfortable with larger pieces is there actually a limit to what can be done or is it just limited by what you are willing to do.

Of course. It kind of reminds me of a what a close-up of a butterfly wing could look like... or something similar.
I am glad that I saw this today. ๐

Oh its gorgeous. It really reminds me of home (Iceland) and its made me a bit nostalgic, absolutely fantastic painting.

u/TheSonder Jul 16 '21
God this is intriguing. Itโs like a mix between a lava lamp and a thermal image and an old school 3D video game. The patterns are beautiful!

This piece is gorgeous! I love your color pallett and the flow between sections. Looks like an active volcano against a night sky! Great job!

Op thatโs amazing! I also do a lot of paintings in my spare time. Acrylic pours are my favorite but also my most anxiety inducing because of the lack of control. As a fellow artist Iโm proud of you for trying out a new method of art! It turned out amazing.

Were you on acid, making this? That thing is like a living and breathing lava lamp on a canvas; what was the idea behind the color and pattern here. Thing is pretty as fuck.

I think I saw this art on Instagram. It inspires and I am in awe of this. I am so glad that you were able to overcome your anxiety, not because this piece beautiful, but because you were able to give it the love it needed to be beautiful. I hope you are able to continue to challenge yourself and express yourself.

I found your etsy link in the comments. I was worried that you would be like a lot of artists and undersell yourself. I'm so glad that's not the case here. Your prices are very fair and you deserve to be paid for your hard work.

I love that it gives off a lava/fire feel and gradually becomes ice/water . Iโve always had an appreciation for style thatโs more abstract art, just like this. This hits it right on the head. Well done.

Absolutely stunning job. The details are incredible and the color choices really pop!
I paint as well and often do my own pieces for my home, but I would 100% throw money down to have one of yours on my wall. Fantastic work OP I hope you continue! And if you do commissions PM me. :)

Like 4-6 weeks.

Understandable. I'd love to try this technique, but my flat is very small and I have three cats, so it would be a mess ๐

This is something I would buy if I werent so broke right now.
I'm a recovered addict and this makes me feel like i'm in my high days without the drug abuse, it's extremely therapeutic and something I never would have experienced if I hadn't seen this.
Thank you.
