Congratulations! I stopped paying attention, but my family didn't. I'm probably about a year and a half clean from fentanyl!

Get the sober app on your phone. Enter the date and it will keep track forever!
18
u/phantom416 Jul 29 '21
That shit is the best, I’m 80 days self harm sober! It’s such a convenient app too

Awh, no. This is your party, you've moved mountains to be here and be able to post up with that cute balloon in a gorgeous tattoo parlor, life is good, you earned it.
Thank you for the virtual hug, the feelings are absolutely mutual!

Save that 2 balloon so you can just buy a 0 balloon in 18 years.
25
u/andrewegan1986 Jul 29 '21
If they bought the 1already then they're prepped for their 12th anniversary. Helps to plan in advance haha!
6
u/falseyProphet Jul 29 '21
This is going to get shit thrown at but don’t wanna miss the opportunity, “They can relapse and use the balloon in another two years”.
Seriously though, don’t! Much love! Much support! Keep playing without cheat codes ;)
4
u/andrewegan1986 Jul 29 '21
Nah, if that happens they can just buy a 0 and cover all bases for future anniversaries...
I wouldn't worry too much about it. People in recovery often have some dark humor. Kind of have to

29
u/hazelclaw Jul 29 '21
Thank you I really appreciate that
5
u/SpJupiter Jul 29 '21
I was too exited about your success and wanted to congratulate you, so I didn't notice, but that moth is gorgeous.

I am going to be completely transparent the first day, the first month was so fucking difficult, I am thinking of you and I hope you get the love and support you deserve to get through those hard moments, it all gets better I promise
4
u/GoddessOfChamomile Jul 29 '21
You are almost to a month and that is fucking fantastic!!! I am at 8 months and I feel like most of the withdrawals (mentally) have run it’s course. Just remember that if your brain tells you it is easier to just drink to help with anxiety, emotions, sleep- it’s a lie! Things get better, I promise. It was just a lot of feels for me at the beginning (both good and awful) and lack of sleep, but if you can hang in there, it gets better! Pm me if you need support via interwebs.

I don’t know if I replied to the right comment, I struggled with alcohol and cocaine
4
u/MaximumAlert Jul 29 '21
Im really curious about this too. No matter what it was though, its a great accomplishment.
6
u/hazelclaw Jul 29 '21
I struggled with alcohol and cocaine, and unfortunately those habits dragged me into other things, but I would say they were my main concerns

u/Iamtheoneurlooking4 Jul 29 '21
You go queen! One day at a time. That’s all we can do. What can I do to help myself or what can I do to help someone? Wake in the morning with that question on ur heart. If it’s fix the bed, drink some water, go for a walk, say hello to someone, then that’s a good day. 💪🏽

Keep it up One Day at a Time. Congratulations. Being clean and sober is the only way to live. I’m coming up on 6 months. Had 15 years. Went back out. It’s not better out there. Trust me.

u/BBR0DR1GUEZ Jul 29 '21
An older guy in AA said something that really stuck with me - that sometimes “scouts” leave sobriety to go back out into the drinking world. And they never seem to say “wow, it’s so different out here now! It’s great!” They come back shot full of arrows and wishing they had never left. That was definitely true for me too.

2
u/alreadytakenpdx Jul 29 '21
It makes sense that an old timer would say something like this, my sponsor taught me we don’t shoot our wounded. Love the analogy of being shot full of arrows. It’s sort of a double entendre cause of the taking shots…
2
u/AliceHall58 Jul 29 '21

If you mind me asking what are you sober from? I am struggling with my own addictions right now
6
u/hazelclaw Jul 29 '21
I am sober from an alcohol and cocaine addiction, I am coming to realize that might not be “serious” enough for some people but that is what I am recovering from
4
u/Similar-Lab64 Jul 29 '21
OF COURSE IT’S SERIOUS ENOUGH. Don’t you pay attention to those dimwits who want to make you think otherwise.
2
u/Cockula420 Jul 29 '21
No that is serious. I’m not a big drinker but cocaine mainly for me as well as basically weed and any psychedelic
