My robot vacuum is called Noodles. Noodles gets stuck quite frequently, but with a cute name like that he's always forgiven.

u/Cristianana Jul 31 '21
We named ours Hal. Sometimes I'll call him or make the tsk tsk tsk noise to get his attention before realizing he's not one of the cats.

My old roommate and I started calling my cat our “lil noodle”, and it’s stuck over the years. So this is super cute to me.

We have one with a dodgy on/off switch which requires you to press it veerrrry sloowwwlly for it to engage. I feel like I'm diffusing a bomb! We have another that loses its shit if its air intake drops below about 10.C which would be fine if it wasn't in East Scotland

As a gardener some clients have roomba like lawnmowers and they're the best workmates ever, I keep an eye on them if they come close because they get stuck on the trimmed bits and panic keeping changing directions and making noise.

As a kid, I always thought the sign in elevators that read, "In case of fire, use stairs." meant that one should opt to use the stairs instead of the elevator, y'know, in case the elevator caught fire. So as I grew older, it became a habit to thank the elevator for getting me to my floor safely each time I was forced to use it.

Ours is called Wiggles. It's really become part of the family... We have a lot of pets and we kind of just started treating it like a pet subconsciously. We feel bad when we don't run it for a few days (not to mention our house gets furry). The dock where he empties himself is his "litter box."

Humans will pack-bond with anything
When I set up my home automation stuff, everyone in the house was absolutely enthralled.
"Aww... it's ok, computer. You'll get it next time!"
"Computer! Can you lower the volume? No no! Decrease! Good computer!"
One time someone came over and was like "Computer! Shut up!"
And everyone was like "DON'T YOU FUCKING TALK TO MY HOUSE THAT WAY YOU ASSFACED BASTARD" and I was like...
I love my people~
