This. There was an r/AskReddit thread addressing ‘saddest sex worker stories’ awhile back that was the saddest thing you ever read. It was all old people hiring an escort just to have someone to talk to because their wife died and they had no one left, and lonely young men who just wanted someone to listen.
I think it is a matter of awareness, physical proximity and most importantly, the ridiculous ‘man code’ that prevents them from being vulnerable and emotional around other men.
