Friends’ height difference isn’t nearly this dramatic but people notice. She’s 6’ and had trouble getting dates. He’s 5’6” and asked her out. She said she’d wear flats and he said it was okay to wear heals. She loves high heals and never wore them on dates. Other guys are the ones who give him grief.

Idk what's the prob with heights, it's completely normal and natural

Ppl in this age tryna normalize all kinda fucked up shit but things like these are still taken as weird

Evolutionary instinct says the bigger male is generally the alpha, so it’s something that’s easily stigmatized

The whole alpha thing is bs anyway. Leadership qualities have more to do with charcter than hight.

It mattered until intelligence was prioritized over strength. Nowadays, it shouldn’t matter how big or small you are, just that you’re a decent human being

There are physical attributes that matter evolutionary speaking, like a certain amount of symmetry, when choosing a mating partner. Still, alpha is used for social structures and height is - once again - not the deciding factor for a good leader. And no, I'm not just talking about intelligent humans. Look into the animal world. Look at a pack of dogs for example, the one leading can be a chihuahua or malteser or a jack russlle when the pack has golden retrivers and other large breeds, too. And then there is the whole part of matrichal structures in human evolution, where women were leaders instead of men. Men have convinced themselves that size matters a lot. It doesn't.

I have a friend whose husband is 2” shorter than her. Not a huge deal but he actually loves it when she wears heels because it makes him feel like he’s with a model (his words)

Am I your friend? My husband says this! It makes me feel so confident!

Haha I don’t think I know you but we can be friends! I’m glad your husband makes you feel confident (as you should be!)

Some days I'm more on top of it than others. But he actually did help her with her anxieties.
