Today marks the first time I have been under 200 pounds in a year. 2020 was an absolute gut punch and I gained weight faster than I ever have before. Hard work has been paying off! Personal Win

I'm putting on my second covid 19lbs. It's been really difficult. I've had two surgeries, two injections for two bulging disks from a fall, 6 months of physical therapy, and a few extra kilos of depression. Fucking worst year and a half ever. Congratulations on dropping the weight, it gives me hope.

u/reallybadatusernames 15d ago

Thank you! Mostly cutting out alcohol and walking a lot more during the week has helped tremendously!

u/Chrisetmike 15d ago

Keep going! I am trying to do the same. It is difficult.

u/Beebwife 15d ago

I'm on a similar journey and weight after having a baby. Small things to start for me and then upping the weights- heavy weights while mixing in some cardio.

Alcohol is a great way to cut out calories fast lol.. I have yet to give up my evening wine after having to avoid it for so long😊

I really like the youtube channel Abbey's kitchen for debunking alot of diet culture and how to eat better/make better choices for food.

Best wishes on your journey, I'll be there in spirit too!

The pounds almost seem to melt off when cutting out alcohol, don't they?

God, during pandemic I gained like 60 pounds from depression and being so lazy/eating bad foods, made it up to 267

Now 6 months later I’m at 235… can anyone tell me if this average or not enough? I work out almost every day

u/reallybadatusernames 15d ago

1

u/reallybadatusernames 15d ago

2

u/altruistic-son 15d ago

congrats 2020 was a shit show. I blew up to 230; recently lost almost #9 just by changing diet.

Why does your weight have Bluetooth??

1

u/Blushing-East41 14d ago

Smart scale probably connects to an app on their phone that can give more detailed info beyond weight (like BMI, muscle, protein, body fat, body water, etc)

2

u/kriskirby86 15d ago

Anybody else read that as 1995 lbs? But seriously congrats my dude

2

u/igotalotadogs 15d ago

2

u/GameGod2815 14d ago

Yessss!! I would also like to say I thought this said 1995 pounds (5 shy of a ton) and I was like man how the fuck

1

u/bhagyeshsc 15d ago

why is there even a Bluetooth option on the damn weighing machine?

5

u/reallybadatusernames 15d ago

It’s a smart scale connected to an App, it measures BMI, body fat %, muscle mass, etc! I’m sure it’s not 100% accurate but it’s nice data to see /have.

2

u/Beebwife 15d ago

I got one recently on Amazon that does this, though not Bluetooth. It's really encouraging if you're weigh lifting and you don't see the weight coming off as a number. You can see the fat% going down and muscle going up wgich is a great positive. (Besides clothes fitting better)

2

u/DiabeticPissingSyrup 15d ago

Damnit - I thought that meant he'd got double vaccinated... ;)

1

u/RSaerp 15d ago
