I thought you were going to say “I am the thumb wrestling champion of the world”.
But congrats though on your accomplishment! Also, consider thumb wrestling because damn, you’d wreck.

This has help me more than anything. I try and imagine my life if I kept getting high, and it is always worse than the minor problems I have today.

Hey congrats man. Im dreaming of being where you are now but keep falling off the wagon

u/nearlyback Aug 17 '21
You'll get there! When I relapsed my doctor pointed out that it doesn't just negate all the time I spent sober and that really motivated me to push forward. Hoping for the best for you ❤️

What you're doing is no easy task. Don't let minor setbacks demotivate you. You can do it. We all see your efforts, and we all know soon we'll see a similar post from you. We are all rooting for you. Keep it up.

Hey just one day at a time brother. Don't think of staying sober for the rest of your life, instead think of staying sober just for today, but do this everyday

If you’re not already I’d personally make Zoom meetings a part of recovery (if you’re that way inclined) 1 or 2 a day should keep you off the naughties.. Also “Play the tape forward”, and when urges come, focus on the future negatives not the short term happiness.
You got this!

u/fluffeekat Aug 17 '21
Great job! Also, your fingernails are somehow perfect. You could be a hand model!

u/samw424 Aug 17 '21
That, and you appear to have a larger than average thumb, congrats!

Congratulations!!! This is awesome to see posts like this. Make sure you don’t hold yourself back from anything. My mother in law has been sober for 14 years but holds herself back because she at one point had issues. It sucks to see that even though she is sober she treats herself how others treated her when she was on drugs. I tell her all the time but I can’t get through to her. Please also make sure to meet people that can help you keep moving forward not back.

u/bigrottentuna Aug 17 '21
Congrats!
I don’t know the struggle, but I know that 1 year = 365 days of success, which is 8,760 hours of success, and also 525,600 minutes of success.
That’s a whole lot of success. Keep going.

Felicidades!! Seriously though, congratulations on being clean for a whole year!! This is the first of many to come but it is also the greatest!! Keep it up man! And remember to go for alternative activities like gym, videogames, reading, etc that can give you the same benefits for free and without intoxicating yourself!

Congrats, I’m sad for people stuck in addiction but I’m in reverence of people like yourself who have the perseverance to keep fighting. My best friend is a recovering addict and he’s an inspiration to me regularly. You are to someone in your life too. Even if you don’t know it!
