My very first job was at a neighborhood pet store. Chinchillas were the best - mellow & SOOO FWUFFFY, but I was always nervous I’d give them a heart attack. I was told that they aren’t the heartiest of creatures.

Congratulations for pointing out my mistake. I make them occasionally as I’m human. I hope it made you feel better about yourself.

I will not apologize for educating people against their will.

LOL - you’re not “educating”. Lovely attempt at a self-esteem boosting euphemism. I know the difference between the words, but I didn’t realize I was being graded by people so I should run spellcheck & triple check my work…on Reddit.
Have a great day & I hope you find lots of other mistakes that don’t matter so you can point them out.

They were literally educating you. If you know the difference, why would you intentionally use the wrong one? You're having quite the tantrum, everything going okay champ?

I think the person with the issue is the one feeling the need to interject when it doesn’t involve them. Nice alt account. 😘

Hahaha, because somebody else agrees that you're not too bright it's an alt account. Reality being pliabe must be convenient for you.
Also, this is Reddit. Nothing has to involve anybody. You think it's a private conversation? They're PUBLIC comments where people are encouraged to contribute. It's funny to see people start grasping at straws when things don't go their way.
Do you also scream and cry in stores when you don't get your way?

People who know what they're talking about, is this normal for these things?
Are they crippled with fear, or just the chillest animals around?
This lil guy doesn't look scared, but rabbits seem chill when they are worried about getting eaten.
I'm so amazed and confused by this monochromatic pikachu.

Chinchillas have different personalities! Mine was very energetic but would tire herself out and want to sit too. She also would grab anything I handed her and hold it in her cute little hands.

Do they play with toys... Using their lil handpaws?
This thing looks like it could have a pen and paper and write a book about being so goddamn fluffy. I love it so much.

Yeah they play with toys, run around, and they like to chew stuff too! The softness is honestly unbelievable, it's like petting air, the fur is so fine. They live for a long time and they're surprisingly smart.

Do they stink? Are they noisy?
I feel like I've always know about them, but I'm suddenly realizing how fuckin awesome they are.

They smell like literally nothing, and they do make little chirps and other similar noises. Overall though mine was silent unless we were hanging out and playing. Not sure if that's normal.

Chinchillas are so cute it makes me wanna die lol. You should look into getting one, you seem really excited. They are nocturnal so their house needs to be in a quiet place during the day, and need to be kept in cooler temperatures to prevent overheating. Other than that, clean their home, feed, and play. They are not supposed to free roam. In my opinion they are a pretty low effort pet.

Someone in a pet store told me once that they can be diabetic, is that true?
2
u/hiumnobye 27d ago
They can get type 2 diabetes if they are overweight and being fed too many sugary treats. Just like humans lol.

Once I was 7 years old, my mama told me she'd get me a chinchilla

u/MunkyDust94 27d ago
I bet she told you to make some friends or you'll be lonely!
But you'd rather the Chinchilla..

Doesn’t matter if you choose to have kids, a doggo/pupper or even a chinchilla - family is family.

That chinchilla wink embodied more razzle dazzle than I ever have in my entire life.

It is probably something to take care of....but that would be the coolest companion to have.

How do chinchillas even exist? That's way too much fluff for one creature to handle
