Oh man. She a sweet girl and a he’s a great dog dad. Makes me miss my boy so much, who passed away a couple months ago. Hug your fur kids if you have them and enjoy every moment!

u/IdellaBradbury 24d ago
Yeah Enjoy every moment to have . I missed my partner in crime too .

Sorry for your loss. It's so hard and completely relatable. It's like missing a huge chunk of your identity. Here's to better days ahead for both of us!

Plum is lucky enough for having him as a dad, at least she has all the love despite of his disability. Thanks for that man.

u/themountainmutt 24d ago
For sure! It warms the heart seeing people who are good to animals despite there being so many who aren't out there. Just have to do our part.

My partner in crime, my best friend in the entire world, passed a year ago in May. Worst day of the year for me
2
u/themountainmutt 24d ago
It certainly is the worst day. Those feelings of grief still hit hard and unexpectedly on a daily basis. The hurt never ends, but they say it does get better with time. I think it'll be like that forever, although I've heard from many that when you have another dog you'll be able to love just as deeply once again. That's reassuring.

My dogs don’t like being hugged. :/
2
u/themountainmutt 24d ago
Then give them all the treats and spoil them while you still can. It means a lot to them and will make you feel good!

His a great dad ever, the love and patience he show's to Plum everyday is worth to be treasured and shared. Truly humanity still exists, thanks man for reminding us.

Such positivity and love in this video.

u/WendiStamm 24d ago
I will totally agree to this man when he says in the last part "Disability does'nt mean Inability My life is worth living".

u/YoimAtlas 24d ago
I can’t even imagine all the hours it took to train that dog just to be able to live… insane effort… truly awe inspiring.

This is why I’ll never lose my faith in humanity, the possibilities for outcomes as amazing and beautiful as this.

Treat our pet as a family not as animal because we all know that is the right thing to do.

u/ninety2two 24d ago
This has been around so many times and I never get tired of watching it. Easily one of the best things to watch.

You are a prince among men. 😍 Several years ago, my daughter used to take care of an aged blind/deaf cocker spaniel when her owners traveled. It was a hero’s job, as the dog was snappish with anyone she didn’t know. My daughter eventually won her trust.

Man, what caught my mind is: what happens when he leaves home? I mean, how does Plum know when dad left, and she doesn't spend the whole day looking everywhere for him? I picture he has trained her today to understand a certain type of pet or something means he's leaving, but I'm desperate thinking about the time she still didn't understand he was leaving and was coming back and spent the whole day looking for dad everywhere and thinking dad just vanished

u/what_no_potato 24d ago
I'm not 100% sure, cant recall source, but it's to do with your smell. If you follow a pattern of leaving/returning home each day, they know when you're due home because the house smells less like you than it did in the morning. They have no concept of time, but they understand 5pm level of your scent.

Takes a special kind of someone to care for such a beautifully dependent animal. Well done man, you’re a legend.

It’s a sad reality to live through but it’s also a blessing at the same time

u/eva_rector 24d ago
She was born deaf and blind, and Dad adopted her when she was small, so she's never known anything but love. Nothing sad about that! ❤

I so want this doggy to have that anti-collision ring collar so she can walk around without the fear of hitting her face when she reaches an obstacle.

I saw another video of a deaf dog whose owner woke him up by putting her fingers right in front of his nose; the smell of her wakes him up. And it’s less surprising than the blowing air thing. Someone should find this guy and give him that suggestion to try.

u/harryschmilsson 24d ago
I think I have a new hero. Bravo to you sir for you love and compassion for another unwanted dog in this world. It amazes me society will put down an unwanted healthy dog. I’ve adopted three rescue dogs and they’re the best dogs I’ve ever had. I think they know they’re loved and living the good life with me. Dogs, we honestly don’t deserve them. I tell them all the time, when your kind comes back, tell them I treated you well.

It reminds me of my dog because they both had that snow fur and pink nose and beautiful personality, wish he was still here he was 14 years old before he passed. please if you feel bad for me don't upvote just reply it helps way more then just normal karma. have a amazing day and Its always good to remember and sometimes cry because it will help you on the long run, hugs to you all.

Can't deaf creatures still feel the vibration? Like if you tap near a deaf dog, will it feel it?

This, ladies and gentlemen, is why you never breed 2 merle Aussies. That pup was lucky to find such a wonderful dad and not be subjected to being culled

Blowing air startles the dog. Just place your hand near their nose and they wake up pleasantly to your scent
