Imagine the heartbreak if the cat didn't high-five you as you passed it.
23
u/broketothebone 22d ago
Happens to me every time I see my best friend's cat. Can confirm it is heartbreaking and also, pretty embarrassing when a cat just leaves you hanging like that.
(I figured out it's because I cat-sit when they're gone, so she sees me and thinks that means they're leaving her. Her vibe is more to perch on the dresser and judge my every move.)

This is possibly the cutest video the internet will ever see. Animals are just the best.

u/AlessandraAnguiano 23d ago
Absolutely! Also the compilation of this vids looks really hard and time consuming to put together but it was superb. I love animals and their cuteness made me smile.

Bears and russians seem to have this strange relationship.
133
u/uItratech 23d ago
ikr it was all just typical domestic pets before the russians decided to show up with a BEAR PUSHING A GUY IN A WHEELCHAIR lolll
28
u/TheFemiFactor 23d ago
I have no idea why I thought Russia but that was the first thing that popped into my mind. Looks like it wasnāt just me.

The following is not Russian history with bears, but Polish. Either way, if youāre looking for an interesting story, look up Wojtek) the soldier bear. He accompanied Polish soldiers to battle in Italy during WWII and earned the rank of Corporal. Absolute unit.
13
u/Tee_Veee 22d ago
I'm also well aware about Wojtek, no bear could come close to the badassory of Wojtek.
3
u/Background-Adagio-97 22d ago
I had heard the name, but never knew anything about Wojtek. That was an awesome read and I will definitely be doing more research into that. What a total fucking badass of a bear.

Nothing says heartwarming like an abused bear being forced to do tricks...

u/GolDjali 23d ago
Followed by a walrus doing tricks at a zoo in China.
23
u/its_a_me_garri_oh 23d ago
And the poor little daschunds made to jump rope on the street in what looks to be China.
Dogs like that have a tendency to bad backs, they shouldn't be jumping like that.

Most of these were amazingly cute. Just not the walrus doing sit-ups and the bear one. Those werenāt cute. Those were animals that were doing things they shouldnāt be doing.
17
u/ThrowRAxakep0805 23d ago
exactly
25
u/KeybladeMasterAqua 23d ago
The dogs and cats were adorable though. They were mimicking their people, just like tiny humans. That in itself is adorable, a sign of true love.

u/furry-burrito 22d ago
You know what an animal shouldnāt do? Spend its entire existence in an industrialized factory farm where all it knows is suffering and pain until its body parts make their way to your plate.

Adorable except for the bear. It looked like it was on a very short chain connected to the top of the wheelchair, you can see it at 0:39 :/
Edit: Found the full clip, the chain is part of his leash that hands from his neck, he is pushing around his trainer that broke his legs. So it's a learned trick. I did say it looks like (:
11
u/Zakrath 23d ago
I think the chain is not connected to anything in this particular moment. I don't know how the animal is treated behind the scenes tho
8
u/redcottagelizard 23d ago
Sorry, you are right. I found the full clip. the chain is attached to the leather leash that's hanging from his neck. He's pushing around his trainer. So it's just a trick he was taught
5
u/Fletch_e_Fletch 23d ago
None of us do. Maybe we should not make full assumptions of a narrative based on 3 second clips.
17
u/Aurorinha 23d ago
The walrus doing sit-ups was disturbing too.
13
u/TundieRice 23d ago
Would that not just be considered a trick? And heās doing it for treats? Iām not sure how youād force a walrus to do that.
7
u/Viend 23d ago

The bear was on a very short chain connected to the top of the wheelchair, it didn't have a choice. You can see it at the beginning of that part.
14
u/TundieRice 23d ago edited 23d ago
Welcome to at least 50% of these ālike usā posts. Most of these animals are either forced to do these tricks or are doing it for treats.
Iām sure a small amount are natural and the animals are truly mimicking humans, but itās a lesser percentage for sure.
13
u/redcottagelizard 23d ago
I still have some hope left
Teaching them tricks for treats is the same as training a dog to behave, so not half bad. Animals that are companions or spend most of the time with humans do stuff like that naturally, there's a bunch of clips of dogs trying to exercise with their humans.

I recently moved out on my own and I'm feeling quite isolated. My dog died in 2020 and I'm still not over that. This makes me wish I had a pet more than anything, but I can't afford it right now and the timing isn't great. Animals make me life better.

This reminds me of the ostrich they had at my local zoo. I had a subscription, went weekly. I would run back and forth next to the enclosure for the ostrich and he would run along with me. It made me so happy.
One week I came in and he wasn't there. I looked around a bit and walked up to a carer and asked him: "Hi! where's the ostrich today?"
He replied: "Oh! That's a really short story. It died."
I still think of that great animal. And that carer. Why did you have to say it like that man?
