I found my older kitty in the bushes during Hurricane Harvey. He was alone, wet and frightened. I couldn’t possibly get rid of him. He’s been my bff since. No regrets!

This reminds me of one of my best friends. I saved him from the engine block of my neighbor’s, and then my car (after he ran off).

This was three years ago and my hand is still bleeding from the last time I tried to pet him but he is still a sweetheart.

We had miniature beagles as kids and the came home with this abandoned ugly ball of fluff (from the end of our driveway) in their mouths that we named "Ugly." My parents washed and fed her and nurses her and she ended up being one of the most beautiful cats ever. The beagles would come by and mail her and she would just loaf there and take it as a "thank you."

Animals and their way of showing love is something we should learn instead of playing the victim and abuser game.
