You have a 9 year old son? And yet, 3 months ago you said you were only 22 years old.

Yeah, you said some messed up stuff, got banned, and are trying to blame someone else.

Scopely is definitely trash, but you're even worse. r/quityourbullshit

This is the only comment he doesn't respond too. I was going to say sane thing

13

u/pelliosophelus Aug 18 '22

Not just someone. His son. That he obviously doesn’t have. What a tool. Blaming his own “son”.

-3

u/Mammoth-Statement-92 Aug 18 '22

The kid could be from a relationship and not biologically his. Could be lots of reasons why he has a 9year old kid.

8

u/Ok-Entertainment-775 Aug 18 '22

Don’t answer for him. Let’s hear his answer.

u/mechdemon Iron Man Aug 17 '22

The first step to playing ANY game is to mute global chat and completely ignore it. Someone, somewhere, is going to be offended by what you post and report you.

Otherwise, congratulations on your ban! You are now free!

u/No-Mix-3443 Aug 17 '22

Lol good way of putting a congratulatory message... It's kind of bittersweet... Honestly, I do wish I knew what the little brat even said that got people triggered lmfao I love him so much my little annoying shit

37

u/_Tigerbot_Hesh Aug 17 '22

little brat

annoying shit

Guess we know where he got it from.

-5

u/No-Mix-3443 Aug 17 '22

Yes yes

12

u/_Tigerbot_Hesh Aug 17 '22

Just FYI, you don't get banned just for using profanity. Most of it's blocked anyways. Somebody went though the trouble of screenshotting the chat, spesificly to send it to support and even then they don't always ban.

So yes, you should def find out exactly what your child was saying.

Hope it's only temporary!

1

u/No-Mix-3443 Aug 17 '22

Okay I'm for sure going to email them to ask them for it then, thanks for letting me know.

And no it is permanent but I don't really care about the ban. I just don't appreciate him thinking it's okay to do that.

I happen to just not like scopley lol

6

u/poopsycle2 Aug 18 '22

Where you 13 when you had your kid

1

u/Chaosbringer007 Aug 18 '22

They don’t perma ban accounts for swearing.

u/vexedvox Aug 17 '22 edited Aug 17 '22

Well, letting a 9yo play looks to be against TOS. That might be why that explanation is falling on deaf ears.

"You may not use our Services in any capacity if you are under 13 years old (or under 16 years old if you reside in the EU)."

2

u/R0Dl0N Aug 17 '22

Damn, I let my 4 year old do some Blitz matches for fun since she enjoys it & results hardly matter, guess I'm going to Scopely jail.

7

u/vexedvox Aug 17 '22

I'm sorry, I can't associate with criminals

6

u/Brian_99 Aug 17 '22

You just did. 😳 (banned).

3

u/Rickyh24 Aug 17 '22

😂 same here. Kid watches Spidey and friends and caught me playing as ghost Spidey. It’s now known as ghost spider game and she plays at least 2 blitz matches every time she’s over.

4

u/R0Dl0N Aug 18 '22

lol funny, my girl loves that show too, and just the MCU in general, got her first ever sprain trying to do a jump kick off the couch after watching Shang-Chi. But for whatever reason in the game she's obsessed with Hulk, can't wait to show her the full Gama team.

-4

u/No-Mix-3443 Aug 17 '22

Honestly ye I did screw up. I made the mistake of crossing it thru the iPad and watching him play once. I learn from my mistakes.

20

u/nariusone Aug 17 '22

To be fair, how would scopely know that you are telling the truth? How do they know you are not just making up some stories after being banned?

It is your account. Under your control. It is a fair policy if profanity appears in an account's chat, the account get banned. Otherwise, how are they going to deal with a million sob story about "my cousin did it"?

9

u/ComprehensiveTurn511 Aug 17 '22

To be fair in a situation like this past behavior should be taken into account. If he's been playing since the game basically launched and hasn't had any other strikes against him they should at the very least hear him out.

7

u/No-Mix-3443 Aug 17 '22 edited Aug 17 '22

Honestly very fair point and I was thinking the same. But their automated messages showing that they threw it into the trash just ticked me off. I'm assuming they probably are getting millions of sob stories from actual doofuses but it's alright from that point of view and I somewhat understand it. I'm just going to take this as a sign that I need to quit this game and focus more on my family, kids and work :)

3

u/drs1975 Aug 18 '22

I think they should have a strike policy for something like this (even if it’s only 1 second chance), especially if the behavior was out of the ordinary. A permanent ban for a one-time incident is a bit extreme, even if they do have the right to do so. Things happen, and kids occasionally get ahold of phones. With all the boneheaded mistakes Scopely employees have made over the years, you would think they might understand that shit happens sometimes

1

u/Eiji90 Aug 17 '22

Yeah but imagine... People hacking ranking scores... Nope they just dont earn rewards or whatever, say something on global chat and one ppl get offended... Banned for life... Lol this game

-3

u/nariusone Aug 17 '22

That is not what is being discussed here. The case here is about profanity.

2

u/drs1975 Aug 18 '22

They are discussing getting banned for inappropriate in-game chat. I’m guessing it has nothing to do with profanity since they censor that with bots. Sometimes they block the weirdest words. Once I even wrote the name of a character in their game and the letters were blocked. I never could figure out why.

Anyway, I do not understand why you think the above comment is irrelevant. You said the topic has to do with being banned for profanity, not being banned for other things. While that might be true, comparing infractions and penalties is VERY relevant. If people can hack and cheat in the game without getting banned, they should never ban for inappropriate things being said in chat. I thought it was a very good point that he made

10

u/scarykicks Aug 17 '22

Proceeds to call the people he's begging to so he can get back on the game clowns... This will end how you want it.

-3

u/No-Mix-3443 Aug 17 '22

Ikr it's almost as if I just don't like scopley.

3

u/-Kerosun- Aug 18 '22

Is your son's name Clara by any chance?

5

u/pelliosophelus Aug 18 '22

Did you really just blame your ban on your 9 yo son? Wow. I bet you don’t even have a son.

7

u/nifemi_o Aug 18 '22

Someone already dug up a post from 4 months ago where he said he was 22 so unless he was having kids at 13, you're spot on.

-4

u/Icy_Statement_2410 Aug 18 '22

People have had children at a younger age. 13 was practically middle aged at one point

3

u/nifemi_o Aug 18 '22

Was MSF available at that point?

7

u/bstondaddy12 Aug 17 '22

I get it but the account violated TOS plain and simple. They don’t even have to give you the reason if they chose not to. Problem is once an account has been banned EVERYBODY has a sad story about it not being their fault. I’m not doubting what you’ve said at all but Scopely definitely doesn’t have the time/resources/motivation to pay someone to listen to complaints from every banned account and than make a judgment on it.

4

u/drs1975 Aug 18 '22

I bet they wouldn’t ban Tadano Mac if his kid went on a chatting spree on his account

-4

u/No-Mix-3443 Aug 17 '22

Completely agree and understand. I just don't like scopley.

12

u/[deleted] Aug 17 '22

Do you hear that? It’s the Waaaambulance!

-2

u/No-Mix-3443 Aug 17 '22

I've been diagnosed with severe depression ever since I posted this :(

3

u/[deleted] Aug 17 '22

Lmao. Yea Scopely will do that to you.

10

u/IceLantern Aug 17 '22

Yeah, the "I gave someone access to my account and they did it" excuse is not gonna work. You being a healthcare worker won't change anything.

5

u/Gritalian Nebula Aug 17 '22

But they love and trust their son. Love and trust are very important things and you can’t just do that to someone that doesn’t exist. /s

-6

u/No-Mix-3443 Aug 17 '22

You need to read my comments on how I personally just hate scopley and was disappointed in my kid as opposed to wanting to "work".

2

u/bloolynxx Aug 17 '22

Good luck. My experience with Scopely is you’re not even a human as far as they’re concerned. Just cash cattle [insert random number]

2

u/DaHanzYolo Aug 18 '22

This is your chance...be free!! Enjoy life. Enjoy your family!

2

u/SammyDeeP Aug 18 '22

This post belongs in r/Irony

2

u/Distrant Aug 18 '22

Dunno what he said but people live on global chat just to antagonize people and then report them as soon as they say something like “idiot”. Scopely will ban instantly for something as low on the profanity scale as that in global and the trolls know it.

2

u/thatboddydoe Aug 18 '22

That's kinda what happens when you give your sprog your device and don't teach them about communication online and/or take the precautions.

RIP.

2

u/Icy_Statement_2410 Aug 18 '22

If you keep messaging support, eventually you should get your account back. I've known other people that were banned for something in global, then spammed support and eventually got it back. Good luck

9

u/wikked-com Doctor Strange Aug 17 '22

Kinda sounds like you did it, and are trying to pin it on your 'son' as a get out of jail free card 😂😂😂

2

u/Extreme74 Aug 17 '22

It's the Clara defense. If you don't know what that is google it about online cheating in Counter-Strike.

2

u/wikked-com Doctor Strange Aug 17 '22

Haha I've seen that before!

5

u/No-Mix-3443 Aug 17 '22

Yes, you figured it out!

6

u/Extreme74 Aug 17 '22

Maybe your issue should be with your son that he felt it was necessary to talk like that over chat in a video game. They reviewed the chat and he clearly said something that was pretty bad. My guess would be the N-word was used or something along those lines. So before freaking out about a company that needs to protect its players you really find out what your angel son said.

-5

u/No-Mix-3443 Aug 17 '22

"I punished my son"

"I'm disappointed in my son"

"He's 9"

But go on and please tell me, a father, what more I should do through a reddit thread lollllll

2

u/CatDude55 Aug 18 '22

Pro tip: don’t have children at 13, the don’t turn out well. Pro-er tip: don’t lie on the internet to make yourself seems sympathetic

0

u/Bingodan22 Aug 18 '22

Be a good father? Maybe don’t use racial slurs around your kid all the time? Something tells me you aren’t the kind for introspection though.

0

u/geo102690 Aug 18 '22

Bro what? Lol You must be good at the triple or long jump the way you jump to those conclusions.

0

u/Distrant Aug 18 '22

No one said anything about “racial slurs” instead of you. Why’s that?

3

u/Bingodan22 Aug 18 '22

The guy above mentioning the n-word. Reading all the comments is really hard for you huh.

-1

u/Taylor_the_Terror Aug 17 '22

After reading this the fact that you having a kid is terrifying. Legit was thinking I would get to the end and there would be a punch line.

1

u/No-Mix-3443 Aug 17 '22

I'm very sorry to disappoint. Can you give me parenting lessons?

1

u/Chava-12 Aug 18 '22

Thank you for your service! I hope it gets fixed, scopely definitely needs tons of work from within

1

u/Dr4zhar Aug 18 '22

Unfortunately, especially when they are actually right in the essence, bans are a very hard thing to get undone. Without even mentioning that they might actually just be unable to unban someone, these kinds of developers will hardly admit that their ban was unfair, even when they were clearly wrong (and here they're kinda right).

1

u/Niiickel Aug 18 '22

shoudn‘t be a lifetime ban

1

u/Chaosbringer007 Aug 18 '22

Haven’t read through everything. But what I did shows your a bit of a liar and looks like your just having a cry baby moment on here. Just take the ban and learn from your lesson. People get banned all the time, players wait and take screen shots because they get satisfaction from being dicks themselves. I’m guessing the ban is a few days or a week anyway.

-7

u/luunta87 Aug 17 '22

Any CM response to this?

2

u/Icy_Statement_2410 Aug 18 '22

You have to tag them

-2

u/Lidirt Aug 17 '22

That sucks man. I’m sorry most of the comments here are ridiculous.

0

u/JP-Gambit Aug 17 '22

Don't see why they banned you instead of just muting you...

0

u/nightowlweedcafe Aug 17 '22

Damn… I’ll make sure to not say anything bad in chat….

0

u/Rickyh24 Aug 17 '22

There is a global chat? I mute it immediately because of kids like this 🤣 ridiculous they won’t let back on though.

0

u/FatCat4096 Aug 18 '22

Let’s be honest. The penalty for offending people in global chat should be a warning message and permanent disabling of global chat. Totally cool with second offense being a permanent disabling of the account. But no, permaban for first offense? Punishment doesn’t fit the crime.
