Charging Hippo is scarier imo

u/ImNoSkrull Nov 30 '22
Yes. And hippos are also the dangerous species in Africa. Atleast rhinos have poor eyesight and if your lucky enough to find a tree. Hide behind it and the Rhino will probably lose sight of you.

Glad there are no eye doctor for rhinos, imagine what would happen if they exists

An evil ophthalmologist somewhere is making the final touches on his rhino eye exam machine, the first steps in creating rhino corrective lenses. His time will come.

I’d take a charging rhino over a charging hippo. Sidestep that blind bastard and he’ll just run right past you. A hippo running at you underwater on the bed of a river, so you don’t even know where it is… 🔥

Side step? Like the rhino just won’t turn around?

First, you sidestep. Then, when the rhino has impaled itself in a tree trunk, you transform into a billygoat and head butt that rhino right over the damn cliff.
Then you just have to hope it doesn’t turn into a purple dragon.

Haha, nice reference!

Ha. I was hoping at least a couple people would get it.
Absolute classic movie.

Brilliant! I haven’t seen that movie for 35 years and could immediately picture the duel

It's not that easy, I mean I also heard in the past that if a rhino charges at you in open field, your best chance of survival is to dodge it before it hits you, but you must evade moments before it gets to you or it would simply redirect towards you.
Problem is that rhinos can run up to 50-55 km/h, you've got to be an advanced Dark Souls player to time the roll lol1
u/mogreen57 Nov 30 '22
I think someone lied to you. I think if the rhino really wants to get you it will simply turn around and stomp you

Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order.
I have checked 1,198,740,010 comments, and only 233,808 of them were in alphabetical order.

I remember this exact picture from a couple of years ago when I took the rhino and photoshopped it behind me in a picture of me going for a jog on April fools day

Almost as intimidating as a grasshopper jumping on your leg when you least expect it

I had the distinct pleasure of standing between two of these dudes in their pens. They were huffing and puffing at each other and ramming the massive bars with their horns. It felt like I was in Jurrasic Park.

It’s not frightening. You won’t have barely registered what’s coming because they are so fast.

I learned from a goat video on here recently that if you get down on your knees and head butt the rhino you can back it down easily

Don't be fooled, it isn't thunder. Staying put would be a blunder.

Most intimidating thing & probably the last thing you see before waking up at St Peter's gates
1
u/Sideways255 Nov 30 '22
But have you seen a charging hippo? Even rhinos don't want to mess with that.

It's only half as "intemidating" (whatever that means) as two charging Rhinos.

I know what’s more intimidating than a charging rhino:
Two charging rhinos.
