What gets me in this isn’t her dumb speech, it’s the applause she gets after making the dumb speech

Perfect encapsulation of Franklin, TN

Do you live there? I’m moving nearby and am just wondering if this line of thought is the majority around there.

Lived in Nashville. The mentality is pretty pervasive. Check out the current discussion on /r/Nashville

Man… I should of thought about checking out the subreddit when doing my research. I’m moving cross country. I went through Franklin and it seemed absolutely dreamy and welcoming so this is a bit disheartening.

To be faaaaiiirrr, Franklin is considered a little more ā€œcountryā€ than Brentwood, but Brentwood is also full of wealthy snobs. It depends on what you can tolerate more. Then once you get closer to the city there are some pockets of more left-leaning people. Lotta hipsters in east nashville. Good luck!

We’re going east side specifically. Thanks for the insight!

East Nashville has its own brand of hipster snobbish. Belmont, Sylvan Park and The Nations are nice. 12South and The Gulch and Germantown are gentrified to Hell and back.
