What gets me in this isn’t her dumb speech, it’s the applause she gets after making the dumb speech

Perfect encapsulation of Franklin, TN

Do you live there? I’m moving nearby and am just wondering if this line of thought is the majority around there.

Franklin is where the rich, stuck-up, still comically ignorant assholes live. They are not only willfully ignorant but also entitled beyond description, irredeemably racist, unabashedly bigoted, and they think they are all God's gift to humankind - like, in a literal sense. It's a trip.

Pretty, though. And about the best you'll get in Tennessee, although Chattanooga has a better overall vibe with a bit more noticeable poverty issues. If you get burned out in Franklin, you can always come to Chatty.

Wow… I’m almost scared to ask now but I’m specifically moving to Hermitage.

Hermitage is alright. It's been over a decade, but when I lived there it was just a cheaper area to live with not a lot going on. It's a short commute to the airport and downtown. Percy Priest lake is in your backyard.

My brother moved to Hermitage. Bought a very nice condo there and at the first HOA meeting he attended, it was mentioned that he moved there from Boston. The HOA President then snarkily said ā€œOh, I didn’t think we sold to Yankees!ā€ and everyone laughed their heads off. Yeah, I’d have decked the a$$hole!

And if someone from herm moved to Boston they’d probably make a similar comment. It’s not that serious.

I’ve lived in Boston most of my life and, no, that kind of rude remark would never be said. We have manners. And you may not think it’s much, but my brother felt so unwelcomed and no one has made any attempt to be the least bit friendly. My brother, after two years there, is seriously looked at moving out of that area of the country.

Lol ok. Boston is definitely known for their mild mannered politeness. Maybe no one has made an attempt to talk to him cause he was so butthurt from an obvious joke. Tell him to move to east Nashville. Seems more his demographic.
