Because letting it run through the unvaccinated gives the virus the opportunity to mutate again. Not to mention it’s putting people who can’t get vaccinated into danger, like small kids.
I might agree with you if everyone that wanted a vaccine could get one and if the vaccine was equally effective for everyone. But some people can't get the vaccine. And some people can get it, but are told that it might be worthless for them, such as severely immunocompromised people and people with organ transplants, who often don't develop the same amount of anti-bodies after being vaccinated. Also, the fact that people like these are putting themselves as risk for COVID means they might be taking up hospital beds that could otherwise be used for people with non-preventable diseases like cancer. So vaccinated people are at greater risk for other problems because all medical facilities are swamped with COVID cases among the unvaccinated. And that's not getting into the increased chance of mutations that aren't covered by our vaccinations. The more they get it, the more likely it is they'll develop a strain that can infect all of us. So I'm totally fine with idiots putting themselves at risk as long as they are ONLY putting themselves at risk, but they're putting everyone at risk.
