I visited my parents recently while my mom was listening to a school board meeting over Zoom. Parents were calling in to plead with the school board not to mandate masks. They were openly crying, begging the board to stop suffocating their children. It was ridiculous. The fact is, our governor mandated masks for all public schools until further notice. The school board literally couldn't do anything. Might as well call them to beg the schools to stop doing tornado drills. It is literally a law (in my state) that we must do them.
Anyway, students come back next week. Teachers and staff have been warned that parents are organizing on social media to send kids with petitions against masks and fake permission slips to be excused from wearing masks. As I said, it's ridiculous.
