I was groped from behind by a man at approx 2:20p.m. at 2nd and Union (right in front of Russell Investments)

I'm a 37 year old woman and this happened to me in broad daylight in a very busy part of town. I was standing at the crosswalk waiting for the light to change when a man came up behind me and grabbed my breast. Looking back I wish I had handled it differently, I chased after him and pushed him down in the street and started screaming various cuss words at him. (which wasn't smart) He ended up running away heading towards the market. After my flight-or-fight mode kicked in I calmed down and called the police to file a report (they handled it really well btw, very responsive, very kind).

Everyone please be safe, and watch your six.

Editing to add: thank you all for your kind words, I’m overwhelmed by how nice everyone is.

Several people were around when the incident happened and came to see if I was ok (including another homeless guy, he was very sweet) I’m almost hoping the people who were there when it happened are Reddit folks too.

As for a description: I really didn’t take in much, he was maybe in his 40s-50s, white guy, balding, I think he was probably homeless. That’s about all I got, it all happened so fast.

I’m going to curl up with my sweet kids and watch a movie. Today was definitely a reminder how quickly things can happen and change you. Luckily I am ultimately ok. I don’t want to take anything for granted anymore ❤️
