Why isnt a Metro expansion being discussed more? Question

Exactly the title. Why the hell arent city officials pushing to expand the Metrolink somewhere like North/South city, or anywhere really? Or even just opening some new bus BRT lines, if trains are too expensive?

We have a progressive mayor and a democrat President whos championing transit, the city can easily get millions in funding from the federal govt if we decided to expand the metro, like other cities have gotten. And as for ridership numbers, I really do believe that “if you build it, people will come”, especially in the poorer areas of the city.

Public transit has been shown to be a game changer in pulling people out of poverty, and would probably be the best thing thats happened to North city in decades, but it seems to be nowhere to be found in city discussions. Why??

I don’t know enough about the logistics but is it even possible to turn it into a modern street car to move people at this point?

Not sure if the rail gauges differ. I do agree it could be successful if it was faster.

I don’t think it’s feasible for that, it was meant to connect the loop with the park and facilitate retail/entertainment development on delmar between
