Is hearing gunshots normal in Tower Grove / Shaw neighborhoods?

My wife and I are considering moving back to St. Louis from Austin TX and are trying to get a sense of what neighborhoods would feel safe. How frequently would we hear gunshots if we lived in the Tower Grove / Shaw neighborhoods near Tower Grove Park? We appreciate your input!

Live in Shaw very rarely near gunshots. We are a bit isolated from the rougher areas though by the park, and highway.

You have idiots who shoot guns on NYE but at the rate the neighborhood is converting 2 families houses into expensive single families I doubt it’ll be happening much longer.

I’ve heard shots on NYEs and one targeted shooting at a bar in the 3 years I’ve been here.
