No hype for the City Foundry?!

It’s more than apparent that the government of St. Louis City and our local media organizations have done a horrendous job on marketing the City Foundry. Silent whispers and word of mouth is pretty much the most anyone has heard of it even existing.

There have been some news stories here and there about the delay of its opening and the difficulties it’s faced with Mayor Jones and such but nothing to get the people excited to go out and enjoy a new massive undertaking in our city.

Why do you guys think that is? Where’s the hype?

Yeah urban food halls and markets are the new hotness. We really dropped the ball on renovating the soulard farmers market, but having both is probably better for the overall health of the area.

All my non city friends love IKEA, and now I can tell them hey Go across the street for some great food and shopping. The more people spending money in the city the better.

Being so close to IKEA is a game changer for that neighborhood.

You honestly think this ridiculous hipster fad was a replacement for Soulard? Soulard is the oldest operating farmers market in the USA. This foundry bullshit will be lucky if it's still here in 2050.

Why can’t both exist? They aren’t the same concept at all.

Yep, and the Tower Grove farmers market is packed every Saturday as well. I don't think it's even the same crowd as Soulard. There's plenty of opportunity for some restaurants/venues to get in on the action.
