Apple employees already make good money. Speaking as a former apple employee who worked at the bottom. They treated us good for the most part. Far better than any other retail job that’s for sure.

They’ve also improved their factory conditions to the point where people compete to work there.

Again... maybe the half a billion dollars would be better distributed to the workers than one man? Are you seriously so contrarian that you're against that?

“The award depended on how well Apple's shares performed compared to other firms on the S&P 500 stock index.”

Most Apple employees opt in for Apple stock. I made a lot with my remaining Apple employee stock plan. I mean sure I don’t think anybody should make over $50M personally, but Apple doesn’t seem like the right people to target. They don’t really starve their employees like some comments here suggest.

CEOs shouldn't be making 400x their employees. This isn't a difficult topic.

I feel like he should hold a lottery with every Apple employee that has worked for 10 years. Winner gets half. It’s his choice though.

I've read numerous articles about factories in China where Iphones are made and how people are mistreated there. Of course they don't count as Apple workers because they are not working for Apple but for Foxxcon etc.

Is this the case with the contract manufacturers of Apple as well?

It's like how US army works in Afghanistan. Hiring locals as contract soldiers and not counting them into the death toll.
