Does controller deadzone affect aim assist?

Has anyone noticed that controller deadzone affects how aggressive or less aggressive aim assist reacts in warzone?

Reason I ask is I played with my wife's beat up o.g. Xbox controller last night and had to shift the deadzone to like 12 to keep both sticks idle. Also noticed my AA was just not as active and alot if shots where it would normally glide to someone it didn't.

Two games later I switch to my new series x controller and down the deadzone to 5 bang....the glide and stickyness was more prominent.

Am I crazy? Also I play on console currently.

My controller has drift and I basically play without aim assist tbh, it's not that bad but it does affect the aim assist

Thanks, I wanted to make sure I wasn't losing my mind. I mean when I discovered it last night I was pretty baked but I could definitely tell something was extremely different and the way it played. I did the same comparison today sober and sure enough same results. So I basically am throwing or rebuilding all my old controllers because I see that much of anything over a deadzone of 5 dampens that glide to another player or it's stickyness.
