WCGW with cooking on a ceramic bowl

My parents were throwing a party back in the day and had a huge ceramic fondue dish full of cheese sitting over a can of Sterno to keep it hot. The dish cracked in half and all the cheese ran out onto the table around all of the other food. It was pure chaos.

There's a reason why this is never done in the Industry or at Pot-Lucks run by Lutherans. The cheese burns where the sterno is, is tough to scrub off, and makes the cheese smell and taste burnt. Always use electrically-heated crocks ... ON LOW HEAT.
