Hey Tribe,
I am relatively new to the whiskey world, but I have gotten to the point where I definitely know I'm a scotch person. Specifically Speyside. I'm looking for scotches similar to Macallan 12 and Abelour 12. Hopefully something butterscotch forward. Also, I still don't understand you peat lovers, but if someone wanted to dip their toe into the smoke dimension, where would you start?
I know there are a ton of places that answer this question, but I haven't found somewhere with consistent recommendations. If any of you MB's can offer some advice, I'd appreciate it!

I'm recently a fan of Craigellachie 13. It is a worm distilled process which gives it an oil rich mouthfeel...it's a speyside suppose to have a touch of smoke, peat, or burnt match, but since I'm also an islay lover, I haven't found that note.
